Too be honest, right now, today, Gio Reyna is not worthy to be on USMNT. It is reckoning time this club season. Nottingham Forest doesn't want him, neither does Dortmund. Might want to go to Italy. The pasta and vino will do him well hopefully. This is his more important club season of his life.
 
Klopp is a pipe dream. I just want someone outside of the US Soccer system. This team/program desperately needs fresh eyes and perspectives to call them out

Needs to be torn down from the top.
There's also MLS connections shenanigans that need to be rooted out, as well.

Too many hands in the cookie jar grabbing money in our pay to play youth soccer system.
 
Seeing people complain and making jokes about Southgate possibly being the manager*, why? Sure, England fell short multiple times but they also went DEEP several times. We can't beat anybody outside of the North American continent and half the time, we struggle then. He'd be an upgrade for sure.

*So far there's no actual news that he or US Soccer are interested that I've seen, its just people complaining already.

I have heard the Southgate rumor too. But he is conservative as hell. Gets the 1-0 lead and packs it in. Plus England has for whatever reason given the easiest path in tournaments that helped them go deep in recent years. How is Germany playing Spain in the quarterfinals with better group record than England? Why is Spain going through Croatia, Italy, Germany, France to get to finals? When England finally met a real team, they lose. Period. Hell even the USA tied them in last World Cup and Slovakia should have knocked them out this tournament. So some of their success the luck of the draw.

If that is what USA wants fine...Berhalter part 2. And USA has nowhere near where the roster England has. England roster probably the best in Europe. Every coach would dream to have that roster. I saw some stat about England. Something like once in past 20 years or something they have beaten a team higher in FIFA ratings, and lost 18 times. Someone can check that but it is close. I can see no reason why England looked so shockingly bad except for 45 minutes versus the Netherlands in this tournament with that roster other than the tactics and personnel moves and coaching.

USA needs a coach to fix the attack. It was never great, but completely stale since World Cup. With USA he'd probably be a counter attacking coach. Plus he is too nice. England players liked that. USA players have no discipline. They need someone a lot tougher who is going to need to make hard decisions and bust the nepotism wide open and hurt peoples feelings.

Anyways, in reality, the best the USA will do in 2026 is quarterfinals no matter who coaches. It is a reality check for USA here.

Still hasn't signed the deal Will not coach the two games this week

Also, Gio Reyna has a groin injury again and out. Surprise surprise. Has not played yet for Dortmund either. Dude's career is floundering away. MLS might be his best option now if he wants playing time.
 
Poch is good with younger players. Will be interesting to see how he handles a national team.

His club teams normally liked to play an intense press and high line. Not sure there's enough training time to institute that to good effect on the national level though.

USA lose. This game shows how very little depth the USA men have. A few players out and they look like shit. Jesse Marsch doing a very good job at Canada so far. USA? This is what you get when it is ok to have a temporary coach long term (twice) and no coach (Berhalter twice).
