USC and Oregon To B1G rumor....

Just mention OD at the negotiations. Never happen. The B1G won't put up with another @GreatDayne type.

Beat Nebraska the last time we played them. Also our loss to Nebraska was Oregon's worse team in about 2 decades, congrats.
as could be said about Nebraska. The ONLY times Oregon has ever beaten Nebraska are during bad years.

1953 = 3-6-1
2017 = 4-8

So... congrats.

Nah, we'd take Washington over Oregon. At least they have been historically relevant at some point.
Academically relevant too. But you’d miss OD’s reaction to realizing oregon is basically just another Iowa if they play in the Big 10.

Flying from Portland to Phoenix is 2 hours, 35 minutes.
Flying from Portland to Minneapolis is 3 hours, 15 minutes.

Not exactly a huge difference.

Yeah. That part doesn’t matter much. Conferences have been slowly reaching out of their geographic area for a while now.

if the B1G expands into the PAC, they will take 5-6 teams imo to round out the conference to 20 teams. Maybe one from the Big12 if they only take 5 from the PAC.

Washington
Oregon
Stanford
Cal
USC
UCLA

most likely, but doubt they take anyone. As much as Warren wants to make his mark, he's a scared little bitch after what happened with covid. He won't make any moves for a while.

wtf has anyone heard this?

That would be a hell of a get if this had any ounce of truth, but I doubt without a couple other teams that this would actually play out.

This. While not ideal, the football travel for West Virginia in the Big 12 has been a lot less onerous than it has been for the other sports.

Ever think we'll have "Football only" conferences? That's where the idea of "super conferences" belongs IMHO.

Another option would be for football to be independents and play in more regionalized conferences for the other sports.
To be honest, I am skeptical I'll even be a big college football fan a few years from now. The whole NIL thing and the way it is being abused leaves me cold. When I see students barely able to afford going to college and doing whatever they can just to get by and then I see Stud Mocus over there demanding his "rights" and how he's "entitled".............well I just don't like it. Letting the players make some money is OK but this crap of turning a team into hired mercenaries with multi-million dollar "deals" likely will not be a sport I want to support. NIL has created an arms race for buying players and the whole culture of college sports is being ripped to shreds because of money, money, money. If they want to create super conferences then so be it. But if I'm asked to pony up money so OU can hire/retain/sign a Million Dollar Quarterback I'm gone. I'll give the money to the academic side of the school and move on down the road.

I think its funny that USC is the big fish because of name. they want to go for money but what about competition?
they think they will do better in the BIG?
Pac 12 titles
oregon 4, Stanford 3, Washington 2
Utah 1, USC 1

south division titles
Utah 2, USC 2, UCLA 2, Arizona 1, ASU 1, Colorado 1.

so they have less championships that 3 teams and have 2* out of 9 division titles

and they say the competition in the PAC isnt enough?

It's about money, they have been struggling anyways, without the payday

lol @Oregon fans who think football was invented in 2010.

lol @Oregon fans who think football was invented in 2010.
lol @USC fans who think Oregon football was only successful from 2010 on.

but what happened in 1939, 1972, or 2003 has little to do with the state of the game in 2021 and beyond. living off past success doesnt mean future success just like past failure doesnt mean future failure.

how long is the flight from portland to maryland? how about happy valley?

Who cares about these rumor unless they tell us what time in the central time zone the games will start!

Ducks fans think history doesn't matter because they don't have any.

This won't happen because once talks begin Ohio State will throw a fit and the B1G will never upset their prized program
Depends on the value it brings. I can see a USC, Ore, UCLA, plus 1 being valuable.
Nah, we'd take Washington over Oregon. At least they have been historically relevant at some point.
Probably take both, TBH. USC, UCLA, Ore, and UW would be a nice west coast pod in the B1G.

Correct ... a lot of arguing about records and shit when what matters is what will they contribute to the money pie. That cuts against Stanford, probably. USC, UCLA, Ore, and UW stretches from south to north in the West. And the teams with the most tradition for the most part.
