USC and UCLA planning to leave for B10 by 2024!

If you really think about it, USC and UCLA waiting until the last minute to make the announcement was kind of a dick move because it hurt the ability for other teams to leave the league. It also really didn't make a lot of sense as to why they couldn't do it earlier.
The days of singing "Kumbaya" together around the campfire have been gone for decades now... :rolleyes2:

People in LA have better things to do than watch USC and UCLA struggle. Here's an idea. What's to stop the Pac 12 from using SoFi each Saturday and do counter programming against USC and UCLA, both which struggle to put fans in seats. Clemson vs. Oregon, sponsored by Nike, would be AWESOME at SoFi. LA likes shiny.

Yep. It has been the opposite for a long time now. Closer to "Fuck you very much" than to Kumbaya. No one school owes any others anything.

Every week, two games, for a shitty payday?

Nothing I guess.

Fuck the rest of the PAC. They not only did nothing to go to bat for USC when the NCAA was trying to ruin the the program, they actually considered adding their own sanctions on top of it. USC had to threaten to go independent to get the league to have a 6 game season during the COVID bullshit. Most of the rest of the conference wanted either no season or a shortened season in the Spring. USC is supposed to be the flagship team for the conference, but hasn't been treated with the level of respect that teams like Alabama and tOSU get from their conferences.

Because of how fucked up the conference is as a whole due to Larry Scott's idiocy, there's a solid chance that USC would have been looking to go independent anyway. Especially if the football team does what most seem to think it will under Lincoln Riley.

The only reason they told those fucks this early is because they had to.

As @CorpRebel said, the days of singing Kumbaya together ended a long time ago.

I know each team’s value would fluctuate year to year. But the drunk fowl said he thought Wazzou and Oregon State would be worth only about 15 million. I can think of a lot of schools that are similar to them or worse.

In fact, I’m not sure any school left in the Big 12 would be worth much more than either of those two. Maybe Kansa because of Hoops and BYU’s LDS connection. But the rest……Schools like K-State, TCU, Houston, Iowa State and the rest of the Big 12 (and some in other conferences) are very similar to those two…at least value wise IMHO.
Big difference in being in a conference and being added to a conference. If you are in then no one is kicking you out but if you aren’t in no one is letting you in.

Depends. If you "aren't in" the conference they'll damn sure let you in if your "cache" is big enough. You guys just did with OU and Texas. And the B1G just did with USC and UCLA.

And vice versa. One could argue that the Big 12 just let 3 of 4 schools in without the "cache" in an act of survival. And their per school revenue is going to drop anyhoo so they are hoping those three bring at least as much as what they will get w/o OU and Texas. Which all probably will except Houston. Big 12 bought a pig in a poke with them IMO.

When Cal and Stanford host Oregon or Washington, play the games in SoFi. It's not like anyone goes to Stanford or Cal's games anyways...

Ouch, but Oregon, Washington, Clemson and others probably had this cross their minds a few times.

a reporter was saying they were upset with the PAC for not even trying to figure something out.. They expected the PAC to offer them a bigger cut of the media deal for the conference to stick together and it obviously didn't happen.

Right underneath this tweet a guy said that lately USC has done nothing to earn it. Perhaps Conferences will think the same way moving forward?

But the viewership counts so why is Oregon not in the mix?

Viewership states are very skewed based on how well that team is doing. Utah is also high. It is no surprise that teams with numbers by their name get views. People around the country will watch ranked matchups regardless of the team Brand/Name.

Oregon may be taking Nebraska's spot in the B1G.

USC is a special snowflake, how dare you suggest otherwise!

oregon still had eyes in their down years. near sell outs late in 2016 when they were 4-8
