Wake Up Wednesday presented by Axe Body Spray

Kids went through the same thing. They promised to raise the kids Christian. Still not good enough. So, he signed an agreement, but was not a blood oath.
I got married in a Catholic church to appease my grandparents and parents. I didn't really care where it happened.

your marriage is more special

Most call it worship.
Shrug.

It was also 90 minutes long, with the long ass powerpoints.

I did the Catholic thing as a kid. Appreciated it was at most a half hour.

There was essentially a righty and a lefty priest. It was great when they'd call in the lefty, he'd speed through that shit and we'd be outta there in about 25 minutes.

sure, the killing spree of homeless people you went on will be frowned upon, but you confessed those sins and absolved yourself, no?
Of course. That was before I left the church.

that sounds really nice
Even as someone who doesn't really believe in God, I leave there feeling better about humanity. Who knows, they might even change my mind someday.

Yup, heavy expectations on both sides of our families, because all were raised Catholic. In Mom's generation, you didn't get married outside the faith at all.

Of all the families on both sides, virtually all of whom were married in the church, we're probably the only ones that attend services regularly. And TBH, I wouldn't do that without my wife, who's pretty religious. I do usually get something out of the services though, and do consider myself Christian.

This Easter, my wife's sister hosted a brunch and all day party for the rest of the family. (wife has 5 siblings in town). It's just another holiday for them.

that's what I like to see when it comes to organized religion. I want to see them put their (untaxed) money where their mouths are and actually be a service to the community.

Extra points if you got the old-fashioned kneel-down confession beforehand.
