We Are All Longhorns This Week

I think the rehab of Lane Kiffin under Saban did as much as anything for the hire.

Bama's offense took off under Kiffin, didn't miss a beat under Sark and it hasn't been the same since they left.
They’re both great coordinators, for sure. And neither give up the role as head coaches.

Kiffin is an offensive genius he just has other quirks that offset it. I'm all in on his analytics obsession but if you are going to make a book then go by the book and quit going super-aggressive rogue. I watched at least 2 games he lost because he couldn't be disciplined enough to follow his own damn book. He is brilliant at Twitter and social media marketing but does terribly in interviews. I honestly think he could be one of the best out there if he could ever get 100% together.

Sark seems to be doing fine and on schedule, as he needed a huge talent upgrade once he got there. He needs to get there fast because the SEC is going to be a whole different world and he needs to stay out of the bottle when the pressure goes through the roof.

Sark is doing fine and on schedule, and he can do that indefinitely.

I was low key pulling for him to not suck at Jexas, but I’ll believe he can do great things when it happens.

I get why USC hired him, they were still trying to capture the Carroll era magic and he was the last stop on that train. At the time it also seemed like he pulled UW from the depths, so let’s see what he can do with a USC programs’ status.

I’ll always give him credit for coming in and instantly making UW at least respectable after the willingham disaster. But in 5 seasons, mediocre was the best he could do. USC hiring him ended up being a huge blessing for our program, and I always thought it was telling just how much house Petersen had to clean when he came in.

Anyway, we all know how USC went, and good for him apparently getting his shit together and hopping on the wagon. But why Texas hired him I’ll never understand. Maybe he’ll work out and finally get past his 7 win sark status, maybe they were hoping the Saban influence really rubbed off on him, but good offensive coordinator seems to be his calling. At least until he proves otherwise.

The way his career’s gone if it doesn’t work out at Texas, he’ll probably land at Oklahoma or something for some reason.
they hired him because he killed his interview with Eltife.. Then when the other got to talk to him they too were sold. He owned up to his past mistakes and was an open book. The committee had already reached out to BKs camp and were setting up an interview.. but once Sark talked to them..it was over.

So far with two years in.. he's done really well.. he attacked the weaknesses along the OL in his first true recruiting class. He picked up the best WR UT has had in over a decade in Worthy, like two months into the job.

He's hired a solid staff, and his team (especially on defense) made a huge improvement from year 1 to 2..

I get we (UT base) are impatient, but the guy is on the right track..

Plus the only circus has been in recruiting with Arch.. the only thing not on the field or recruiting was the monkey fiasco..

Sark will be fine.. he has too many people on his side for him to bomb at UT, they really REALLY love him. We got Arch, he'll dominate the SEC himself :)

You seem very sold on him. I’m happy for you.

I wouldn’t be shocked if his ceiling is the Texas version of Bo Pelini, a consistent 9 win coach who is hard to fire and impossible to keep. I won’t be shocked if he does a little better than that either. I’ll be a bit shocked if he gets Texas where they expect to be—in the NC conversation every year.

Rub it in my face if he does.

Plus a Sark-coached Texas isn’t likely to do better than 8-4 anyway.
The Office Thank You GIF

I don't see Bama wearing down in the 2nd half like Rice did, just don't see how Jexas can hang with them for 4 quarters.

Which means Jexas probably wins by 2+ scores because FML.

9 win seasons are a big difference in the SEC and B1G vs the B12 when Oklahoma was winning the conference 7 years straight.

Nebraska fans would kill for 9 win seasons right now.

There is going to be an adjustment.
