Wednesday New Year's Eve Eve Thread

The house you mean? or it's price?
morning all

house for sale on my street, just two houses down from me. Mrs Pnk is excited they're moving out. They're nice people, but always junk in their yard, they light off fireworks all summer, and other minor nuisance stuff. I tell her it could be a lot worse

Smoke a blunt. No hangover.
Thanks rock.

Actually I may get my one hitter out and do one after we eat dinner down the street, 19.99 for ny strip. Be asleep by 9 pm.

My friend lives next door to these people:

approximately 40 dogs – including 10 puppies — and nine cats were removed from the home

If I was Rock I’d brag to you about all the 10’s who smoke my stash before stuffing me back into the friend zone.

$2.5 million here probably

Im in the finance/real estate business and it’s turned me into a stone cold despiser of home builders. Asking that kind of money from hard working people for a house should be illegal. I don’t care how nice the weather is. We would solve A LOT of mental health issues just making stuff AFFORDABLE to people.

I am in the Boston area and even rent is ridiculous yet they continue to develop more and more properties with a low low starting price of $2,500/month for a studio!

Who the hell can afford that shit!? I'm a single guy I certainly couldn't. I got so lucky with the place I found two years ago. Landlord only jumps rate $20/year so I am still paying probably $500-800/month LESS than what I would at any other place

I have a theory. I see more and more people working on building new homes (as in builders hiring more workers). 15 guys instead of 5 now throwing up frames crazy fast. Like one every couple of weeks. Then 15 more guys swoop in to put in the electrical, lighting etc...

Builders are using more workers than ever in efforts to build (and sell) homes as FAST as possible. This means more workers getting paychecks in the name of speed.

Then ALL those extra costs are pushed into the home buyer.

It’s tough because this wouldn’t be happening if people weren’t buying them but if you wonder why the people get in debt up to their eye balls this is why.

Ya boy gettin lit tonight! After several weeks of a $8500+ bill hovering over my head, apparently the warranty is covering the cost of the broads transmission in her car.
What kind of car?

Yeah people are buying them but they are going into huge debt! I can't afford a house right now and barely can afford rent (well the rent I would be forced to pay if I lived anywhere else). Makes a guy like me feel like less of a man because all my friends have houses (granted they are married and have two incomes) and I am still scraping by renting

So far housing is still affordable in my area. Just waiting for that to change, but hopefully it doesn't. This is also an area that purposely tries to lag behind with the times. It isn't a big destination area either, so that is also another factor.

You’re not less of a man not shoehorning yourself into debt. Trust me. You’d shit if you knew how many couples Ive helped buy new homes with little money down - years later I’m helping them out of debt or worse after a divorce.

I don’t think anyone should buy a home without having 20% to put down on it.

Give it some time, most likely will skyrocket
