When we bought the Outback, it took the dealership forever to decide that we'd qualify for the lowest financing rate. I think their first offer was like 5% or something goofy like that. After their next offer was still above the financing rate I got from my bank, I told them to get me the .9% or lose the sale.
The Mazda was a breeze, though. 0% from the jump.

Went to undergrad in NC. If you didn't have a chance to talk to someone to figure out if they were local or from a more northern clime, late fall and winter was an easy time to figure it out.
