Week 6 Irrelevant Rankings

Clemson’s 19-13 home win over previously unbeaten Boston College didn’t impress voters enough to keep the Tigers in the Top 25. Thus ends their streak of 107 consecutive weeks in the rankings. The last time the Tigers were unranked was the week of Oct. 5, 2014.
I still don't see 25 teams better than Clem. JMO.

Aw yeah 2014, a loaded defense with Grady Jerrett and Vic Beasley only to be wasted by Cole Stoudt at QB.
Good times

A 3-2 record would do that at this point in the season. They will be back if they win a couple of games and end up at 5-2.
Florida has basically the same results as Iowa St yet theyre ranked 20th despite starting the year ranked lower than ISU

Ohio State rated higher than Oregon

ha ha laughing GIF
Use the entire resume, don’t let head to head be the end all be all. That’s what simpletons do

They’re treating the close loss to Bama as a win. Which is wrong. If I were gonna rank any 2 loss team at this point of the season it would be Clemson. I mean, at least both of their losses were to ranked teams and Boston College was undefeated when they beat them

I'd like to agree with you since it sort of benefits my team, but what part of Ohio State's resume overrules the recent H2H loss at home where Oregon was missing their best player?

No actually it’s friggin hilarious if only for one reason, it pisses off OD and it makes him work harder on scenario village. Okay that was two reasons - if I only could count to “Who gives a shit!”

A loss to Oregon is better than a loss to Stanford regardless of venue, now Oregon definitely has the better win in the bag thus far, but their resumes aren’t that far off. Oregon has a good win and a bad loss. OSU has a good loss.

I think there’s a good argument for either team, and I think they should be the top 2 one loss teams.

But I was talking more in general. Like if Arkansas wins out and beats Bama, but UGA loses to Florida and Kentucky, you’d have to rank Arky ahead of UGA despite losing to them 37-0

You guys are gonna miss OD if y’all ever push him over the edge. He’s the board MVP, especially since @Mutiger is MIA

Yep I agree. It's definitely not the end all but in this case and at this time I think it is pretty crazy to rank Ohio State ahead of Oregon. That could easily change as the year wears on if what Ohio State showed this weekend is them actually waking the F up and not just a fluke

I agree that Oregon should be ahead of Ohio State but trying to put myself in the shoes of the people that make these rankings, it does seem like tOSU has a history of choking in the first couple of games only to win out and be very competitive. Look at the 2014 loss to Virginia Tech at home for example.

Florida Ranked above Texas . Lmao.
