How did Ohio St drop from 3 to 5?
How did Alabama drop from 4th to 6th?
How did USC climb from 6 to 3?

You're actually all over the place here.

Penn St was 7th, not 8th.
LSU was 5th, not 7th.
tejas was 11th, not 10th
Washington was 10th, not 11th.

those are seeds not rankings.
the 12 team proposal is the top 4 champions would receive a bye therefore 1 UGA means 4 bama would not be the SEC champ and same for 2 Michigan over 3 ohio state. that moves the teams rankings. since 2 outside the top 4 move in Ohio State and bama move out Ohio state would then be the next highest seed at 5.

1. Minnesota
2. Nebraska
3. Colorado
4. TCU

And Penn St, tejas, and Washington?

Texas is the highest ranked Big XII team so they were counted as a champion same reason tulane was in.
6 champs plus 6 at large. the 6 at large come from the pool of the next highest ranked teams.
have you not been following any of this? since the 12 teams was announced this is all common knowledge

No I haven't, but you knock yourself out projecting something 5 months in advance.

I'll be back to check your accuracy. LOL
not projecting anything. this is simply how the games would look given the parameters we have

Do you think it would actually verify that way?
no. and i never said they would. simply said given the information we have at hand in a given week this is what they would look like

week 3 rankings

I could see UGA, Texas and FSU going undefeated plus its a possibility for USC.

So the big question is if either Michigan or Ohio State does not go undefeated do they make the playoff? This could be an interesting year but teams can't drop a game.

Don't rule out chaos year. I wouldn't be shocked we ended the year with maybe 1 or 2 undefeateds.

1 or two isn't a problem or chaos. Five undefeated teams is a big issue and there are 7 teams that are probably good enough to do it:

Georgia - Should win out very favorable schedule
FSU - Favorable schedule with Clemson, Duke and Miami being the toughest games
Texas - Really just needs to get through Oklahoma which I think they will
Michigan - Have a shot
Ohio State - Have a shot
USC - It's the PAC so who the fuck knows probably two losses no one saw coming
Washington - This could be their year

Michigan and Ohio State can't both do it and neither can Washington and USC so that number goes to 5 and the chances are that one of the others will drop a game and then everything works. However, if teams don't drop games then its chaos.

If you have multiple teams with just one loss I don't think it's that big a deal although the ones left out will bitch.

I'd put Penn State in that list also. Obviously only on of them, OSU, or michigan can do it but I also wouldn't be shocked if all 3 had a loss. I like FSU but I also really don't like LSU, who I think could end up with 3-4 losses. It wouldn't be shocking if they slipped up. Georgia, agreed. Texas, we'll see.

By chaos I moreso meant each of these teams (outside of UGA) could definitely drop a game to someone you don't mention.

like you said who knows with the pac
USC also has a currently top 10 ND along with 5 other ranked Pac teams
Washington same boat different problems with 5 ranked pac teams.
the thing for both is that Stanford has been the only P5 between the 5 games for them so i dont know if we really know just how good they are or where some problems might be.
the other currently ranked pac teams
Oregon State has played no one still has 6 currently ranked pac teams
Oregon won ugly at TT still has 6 currently ranked Pac teams
WSU looked good beating Wisconsin. still has 5 currently ranked Pac teams
Colorado beat 2 P5 teams and looked good doing it. still has 6 currently ranked pac teams
Utah beat 2 p 5 teams with a mix of looked good and not as good but without their starting QB with 6 currently ranked pav teams
UCLA beat 2 g5 teams so cant really say what we know still has 5 currently ranked pac teams
