What are you eating?

That's not my hand.
Best pic I could find.

Hope it didn't fall off into the food.
I wonder who the fuck thought that would be the right hand to hold the burger for a food porn shot?

"Hey, you know what would make this burger look really great? If it was being held by a poop thumb!"

Yeah. That's been my weekday lunch every day for the last four years or so. It just makes it easy to do the same thing.

Of course, it's also fifteen minutes to Wapner.

I saw a commercial for a flat top like that this weekend,
I think it was called Blackstone or some shit.

I thought it looked to be just about the perfect thing to cook on.

I debated with a Blackstone, but I preferred the grease catcher location on the Blue Rhino and was a little cheaper. Had it for a few years and does everything you'd want. A little more work than a grate grill, since you need to keep it seasoned, but hibachi, pancakes, etc without flare ups outweighs the extra effort.

I had the Blackstone. I gave it to my son. I don't think he ever used it. I used it about 4 times and decided on the 4th time it was never going to be a 5th time! I had the one with 4 burners and let me tell you it was hot as fuck when you are standing in front of one cooking. Too f'ing hot!

Another thing is the cooking surface is just carbon steel....not stainless or aluminum....so it will rust.... a lot. You have to keep it "seasoned" and the best way to do that is to use it often. If you store it for any length of time, say like during the winter months, you may need to get the Flat top sand blasted to get the rust off!

Seriously, they cook great food and are wonderful if you cook on them every day but who's going to do that?

That's definitely where the extra effort comes in. After I finish cooking, I go ahead and scrape any food particles into the grease catcher, throw some water on while it's still hot and do a quick wipe down.

Later after I finish eating, I'll go back and turn the burners on, spread some oil on the surface and sides evenly and let it heat up for 5-10 minutes. Cut the burners off and wipe off any extra oil. Once it cools back down, I'll put it back up in the shed.

Hell, I'd replace the indoor range with that and an air fryer.

Ive debated back-n-forth on getting a Blackstone......The flat top grill looks to be very useful compared to a grill.....
Like you said, cooking burgers on a grill flare up and seems too me food always stick to it,plus the wife says food is way way too done for her liking ,and the meat tastes like shoe leather......so I have not used a grill in about 10 years.....

Thought a Blackstone would serve my purpose......

And does the food have a barbecue taste to it,or does it have an indoor range taste to it.....?

I'll bet it's just like the old Drug Store Hamburgers you used to get.
So more of a range taste I'm thinking.
