What are you listening to?

I do believe Walt would've approved.
I bought that CD when it came out.
Plus, John Medeski & Trevor Dunn FTW.

My all-time favorites are Pat Metheny Group (no close second), Paul Desmond, Keith Jarret, Ralph Towner, Gary Burton, Enrico Rava, then we go to my second tier.

I saw Pat Metheny in Vancouver is 1995. It was EASILY the best concert I've ever seen in terms of quality of sound and overall musicianship. It didn't hurt that it was in a smaller club that was built for theater and concerts.

I still have the poster from that concert hanging on my wall....

Classical musicians are well known for not feeling the beat, but rather, relying on the conductor to place the beat for them. Great find.

Oh maaaaaan. That is the all-time great lineup minus Pedro Azner. RIP Mark Ledford. I found David Blamires on Instagram and shared several PMs with him. He's in Chicago doing ad jingles. :*

That was really and truly the golden era of PMG right after the release of his greatest album Secret Story.

You know Lyle Mays just died, right? I had held out hope of another true PMG release with Lyle and it's no exaggeration to say that I wouldn't have been able to sleep for a couple of nights before its release. Pat even said it would have eventually happened. So incredibly sad.

You want to hear some perfect music, listen to some of Lyle's stuff. Mindblowing really. The Pandora Lyle Mays is great, great stuff with liberal amounts of Keith Jarrett mixed in.

Yeah, I knew Lyle Mays had died, and yes, his solo work is criminally under-rated.

Nice recommend. I'd never really heard of Trevor Dunn, but I see he used to play with The Melvins, One of @beardown07 favorites.
Him and Buzz just released a King Buzzo acoustic album, like a week ago.
