What do you think about your team’s chances in 2022?

You saw Gibbs at Tech...nuff said.

Georgia's like a Dad who left the house to buy cigarettes in 1980, came back last week, and wants to pretend like he was there the whole time.
Some of you Bama guys are interesting. Should we not be enjoying our win? Only Bama fans are allowed to celebrate their national championships? You sound like a total asshole here. Many other Bama fans have been far more gracious, congratulating us. But, for you only Bama fans get to celebrate. Weak stuff ... be better.

You'll have to because those are the bitches you're rolling with.

Y'all finally win one and now you've got your big boy britches on, that's good because we ain't scared.
Let's see ... the GOAT is still coaching. Still reeling in top 1 recruiting classes. Just got to the finals of the CFP. Won 6 of the last 11, or something crazy like that. Yet, you lacks so much confidence in life that you have to come on a sports board and ridicule other fans for celebrating their win, and "he ain't scared." No shit, Sherlock. There isn't a person that posts here that would be scared if their team had done and is doing what your team has done and is doing. Grow up and get some class.

Give it a year and they will be claiming this Natty as their own because they beat you in the CCG and you shouldn’t have been in the playoffs.

RAWL TIDE

Why wouldn't you grab Gibbs out of the portal? Competition is good.
TBH, even you guys don't have unlimited schollies. You grabbed him because the guys you have now aren't as good as you think they are. All highly ranked, but you have had a ton of injuries. But having close to 10% of your scholarship limit dedicated to RBs is interesting roster management.

@Mistaken4193 was a much more reasonable fan. But, if you want to address the injury issues, let's do it:

You will first need to forfeit your your 2009 NC against Texas who lost their starting QB in the first quarter. If that's all you have to do - claim that but for an injury or two you would have won, then UT was the NC in 2009. Now, I don't really agree with that, but that's the logical conclusion of your injury excuse. We also need to reevaluate last year's NC ... Fields got injured with broken ribs. I am guessing that cost them 3 or 4 touchdowns, and they probably would have beaten you had he been at full strength. You want to keep going back and looking at injuries in all the other NC games you guys have won? Again, I don't believe any of this ... it's absurd. And that's the point.

You seem to imply that only injuries that happen in the game matter. What's up with that? We lost our starting RG in the first set of downs in the Clemson game. Our OL would have been substantially better with him in the NC game. We lost our sack leader, Adam Anderson, halfway through the season. We lost our All American Star, Tykee Smith, to injury during the season. And contrary to what you typed our WR1, Pickens, was still not anywhere near 100% and WR2, Dom Blaylock, was out all season. Continuing with WRs, Arian Smith broke his leg - he's the closest thing we have to some of your traditional burner WRs. So we were down 3 of our top WRs in the game, too. So, let's see, we were down 3 of our top WRs, one our best OL, and 3 of our best defenders. That makes it even ... natty back on.

To finish off this absurd argument, you guys have had the no. 1 recruiting classes for as long as any of us remember. So, your backups who are going to be some of the best players in the country, should have been ready to step in and play. The two final TDs we scored were scored by freshman who were prepared for the magnitude of the event and made the plays. For you to think that injury and loss of players was somehow only something that Bama experienced is laughable. Did it affect the game? We don't know for a fact if it did or didn't. We can made an assumption that it did. But we can also assume that our injuries, that were equal to or greater to yours also lessened our team and made a difference. Stop with the excuses, congratulate the team that beat you and move on. You look like a fucking loser if you don't.

As for the RB issue, I actually said we were even, although if pressed I thought we had the edge. My reason is that our older guys have more experience and less injuries. All your older backs are coming back from serious injuries - sorry, but Sanders isn't the back he was coming out of high school. We know what that is like, Zeus never got back to where he could have been. We have Milton coming off injury, but McIntosh and Edwards injury free. And, I'll put Robinson up against any of your incoming backs ... he's a beast. As for all your guys being higher rated RBs, they all match up within a few backs of each other. You certainly have way more backs, but that's not a good thing ... 5 backs is a lot ... you guys have 7. That won't last. Also, if Saban is so convinced about how good your RBs are, why bring in Gibbs? Give that a thought. I'll give you a slight edge now that I think about it, but only because of Gibbs. He is a proven RB ... it will be interesting to see how he does in your packed room. It will also be interesting to see how many of your RBs are there after spring.

Where did I say that BV was going to beat out SBIV? I don't think it will happen, but it will be a competition. You act like you know my program better than I do. You don't. Bennett beat our JTD once JTD was healthy because (1) our O scheme changed to want/need the QB to be able to run, and (2) per some people I trust who are close to the program, JTD simply didn't look as good once he got back.

I actually think the Ds will be similar. You aren't going to believe this, but we return more players than you do who played 1/3 or more of the snaps on D. So, no, I won't be booking anything. We will take a small step back from what we were this year, but if you don't think we aren't going to be stout on D, I'll enjoy the look on your face when you see the results on the field.

No where in any of this are we looking at any transfer coming in for us. And more for you. For example we still might lose TE Washington, and you may be the landing spot. That would hurt. But Smart will be recruiting the portal as soon as we are able - counts simply don't allow it right now.

No one, certainly not me, said anything about you passing the torch. Goodness some of you Gumps are sensitive. A few of us were having a civil discussion about next year and you had to get your panties in a wad. Everyone here knows you are still the best program in the land. I just think we'll be a lot better than you think we will be.

And you can be sure that I am enjoying my win. All your excuses can't and won't in any way lessen my joy! I still have thousands to spend on all the merch I am buying.

Lol, bitch please, did I say you didn't win the game...because clearly, you did. Just like clearly we beat Texas. That doesn't mean I don't think we would have given you a better game with Williams or Metchie on the field. Nor do I think it invalidates our title when Texas fans say Colt would have given them a chance to win...like no duh...because any chance is better than no chance.

Again, injuries happen, injuries during the season you can plan for, the further back an injury happens the more you can plan for it. Notice I didn't bitch about being down to our 4th and 5th best cornerbacks or being down to 2 scholarship backs. Shit happens, sometimes things go your way, sometimes they don't.

If you think your injuries were equal to ours, well, you're just dumb.

"To finish off this absurd argument, you guys have had the no. 1 recruiting classes for as long as any of us remember." Clearly, your memory must be like a gnat...Is your inferiority complex so bad that you don't acknowledge you've had the #1 class two of the last 4 years?

"Stetson will start at QB1, but Brock Vandagriff could beat him out if Stet doesn't continue to improve." Nothing Kirby has ever done says this is anything but bullshit. Ride or die with Stetson.

You guys have 5 defenders going in the 1st round. While I acknowledge you have a lot of talent coming back, you don't lose that and stay the same. Our defense is going to be better. Better is ordinal...they can both be good, but ours will be better. It's an opinion, you don't have to agree with it, even if it's right.

Damn you guys don't need to be so salty, you just won the title. Now we're talking about next year.

I’m the salty one? LOL

The only thing I’ll respond to is Stet. I’m fine riding with Stet, really glad he came back. But you got Smart wrong … he will play the QB he thinks can win the games. If at any time he thinks that BV or GS are the better choice he will make the change.

Talk is cheap until he actually does it...which he has 0 track record of doing. I'm ok with Stetson too, puts you guys at a disadvantage right out of the gate. As an Alabama fan, I know all about overcoming shitty quarterbacks to win titles. Hell, we won a NC game with a QB that went 4 for 13 for 18 yards and two picks.

It's ok, I already knew I was right on the other points, I didn't need you to acknowledge them. Just like me not responding to your Gibbs post was an acknowledgment that you could be right.

Still holding pat on this?
There is little chance your final list will look anything like this come game 1. Unless you keep your head in the sand anway.

Brah. I think we all learned that the receivers made Young. Because Stetson outplayed his overrated, overpaid ass. And your 5 star DB got his money taken by a 3 star true freshman WR for the go ahead TD.

Look for significant regression in Young next season though.

Oh look, it's the Stetson Bennett bandwagon fan club in to tell me how great the second coming of D.J. Shockley is.

Imagine being a 5 star getting outplayed by a walkon. Young ain’t Tua or McCarron or McElroy or even Wilson

you do realize Georgia has more 5 star recruits on their roster than any other team, right?

And what is with calling out Bryce Young? The guy has been amazing. Does a QB need good WR's to be elite? Absolutely. If you take Metchie out of the game, it hurts, but they still had Williamson. You take away Willamson and they have no one to stretch the field against one of the best defenses CFB has seen in a long time.

I just know a walk on QB outplayed their 5 star, the go ahead TD was caught by a 3 star true freshman(hell, all 3 of the 4th quarter TDs were scored by freshmen), another walk on was playing safety, and Jordan Davis was a 3 star. Hell, Jermaine Burton was a 5 star on some of the services and he's transferring because some 3 star white freshman named Ladd McConkey was outperforming him on the season.

Actually -- he is better than all of them. Bama just had holes on their defense this year and lost their top 2 or 3 WR's. I'd think the guy who threw for 800 yards on Georgia in 2 games, when you had a historically good defense would earn your respect.

He talked shit when the going was good. He cried when it wasn't. Another Baker Mayfield.

Guarantee you none of the other QBs mentioned are throwing a pick 6 with the game on the line.
