What time did your team kickoff their home games before Television

It seems like Oklahoma always kicked at 1:30pm

I can remember the first night game.

I was wondering if it was the same around the country or not.

Penn State usually at 3:30

But to be fair, that wasn’t before television.
 
what was the point of night games if they weren't going to be televised?

11:30am first game from Ireland vs Northwestern seems a tad odd.
 
12 fucking 30. Like clockwork. Start the tailgate sometime around 9ish and stagger into your seats in time for a high noon showdown.

Now the fucking Pac12 after dark bullshit made it so you can't get home before midnight.

If you have to go to a game in the fall with rain/wind/etc it's a whole different critter to do so mid day.

They stuck us in eternal late games and still couldn't bring in enough money to actually keep the conference float. Fuck Larry Scott.

And why do people whine about early kickoff times anyway?

Primetime kickoffs are severely overrated. Fuck all that waiting and fuck staying up until almost midnight because you wanted a late kickoff.

Mid afternoon is my favorite kickoff time, it’s just a shame that usually means a CBS game for UGA.

Because tailgate time gets severely cut. I’m not for a prime time but 3:30 or 4pm is perfect. Part of the experience of going to a game is the tailgate. When you have a noon or worse earlier it cuts that experience up. I know Im probably in the minority about this here because I’m still semi young enough but fuck noon games, especially OOC P5 ones.
 
I have no idea what time kickoffs we’re before TV.


Before Maction we still had night games though. They just weren’t on Tuesdays or Wednesdays en sech.
