Ha, she better be glad I didn’t slip out the back door without paying my damn bill.

On the other hand, if your service sucks, and you have a shitty attitude, your tip would be zero or maybe I would just tell you not to eat the yellow snow, there’s a hot tip

LOL@ people who feel entitled to a tip. A tip is a bonus. You are getting paid by your employer.

Before someone butts in and says "yea but they are paid a lower hourly wage because of tips"...get a different job or STFU

She tips out the bartender because they made the drinks right?

All she did was walk from the table and then back again, this time carrying some drinks. How much effort did she put forth? How much was that effort worth?

oh okay it's a group tab. Yea I actually agree with her. That's shitty to pick the tab up and tip 5 dollars. Or pick the tab up and ask other people to kick cash tip

Average drink cost is $10 so let’s assume 5 drinks. That’s a buck a drink and the standard is one to two dollars a drink. 1 for a beer and 2 for a mixed drink.

If the bar tender pulled 3 beers and two bourbons on ice then $5 is completely adequate. If they made like 5 Bloody Marys then $10 would be more appropriate.

We don’t have enough info to judge.

that's fair.

I had worked as a waiter at an Indian casino cafe. At the time, they were alcohol free as they didn't want to give any more to the government than they did.

Anyway, I served high rollers that talked about being down $10k with $1k spins. I always had decent tips with them ($5-$10), even with bad service.

Then there were those who just gambled away all their money and did what they could for a free meal, let alone tip. They would get a tenderloin and eat "almost" half and say it wasn't cooked long enough.

Bingo players think they are special because they say in a bingo hall for 4 hours. Quarter slots would have their bowl/small bucket of quarters near overflowing and tip a few nickels.

Hard to say what's going on here.

The video claims she's the bartender and also the server (waitress). It would be that way in the stand-alone bars around here.
If that's the case, and she was consistent in keeping our table in drinks, then I'd have given her a $10 tip (20%) minimum and not thought anything about it.

The part I don't get is her saying "And I gave you refills and you didn't even ask". That's sounds more like a waitress keeping water glasses full. I know of no bartender/server who brings another round to a table without anyone asking unless it's a round on the house. Same could be said for anyone bellied up to the bar. The bartender doesn't just keep bringing them drinks without at least asking if they want another one.

smaller bars would have the bartender pull double duty like that for bar side tables.

Starbucks asking for a tip is absolute bullshit.

My coffee is already a 100 bucks man

I dunno but I was asked to tip at a car wash that was automated.

Unless you’re in the food service or livery business you can fuck off with your “it’s just going to ask you a question.”

Especially since if they’re properly trained they would never do this as it is a huge liability. They’re supposed to observe your level of intoxication before serving you more.
