I feel sorry for Dabo.

@Edisto_Tiger
What are you hearing as replacements

:rip: Clempson football

Their o-line was in shambles this year, and this staff had been largely in tact for years. Dabo knows how to assemble a staff, but this could be the end of their run.

It’s the end of their road unless Dabo gets on board with the transfer portal and NIL. His old school approach is not going to play.

Does a Head Coach make his assistants or do the assistants make the Head Coach ... or is it a little bit of both. A good leader will train his subordinates to move up ... it appears that Saban has a lot of former assistants out there.

I'm hoping Michigan takes their place as Alabama's challenger in the playoffs......................................................

I've still got Dabo in elite coach category.

The close loss to Georgia in the opener was nothing to be ashamed of. That Hanson Brothers kid likely wins that.

Their close win against GT followed by the loss @ N.C. State, two more questionably close wins (B.C./Cuse), the loss to Pitt followed by two more questionable close wins (FSU/L'ville) was a WTF's going on here.
However, they closed with 3 big margin wins. One being Wake Forest (48-27) and another rival in S.C. (30-0).

I'd bank on Dabo still having the 'IT' factor (elite) and to properly replace the assistants that departed to keep Clemson in upper echelons like he has for 6 of the last 7 years.

He had a great 6 year run. Seven if you consider the covid year.

Would you say the same about Saban?

I know Dabo's not the GOAT Saban, but he has been an elite.

Was thinkin about this the other day. From what I gather Dabo doesn’t like the transfer portal, doesn’t like NIL and now his cabinet has been cleaned out as far as assistant coaches.

Wonder if he’d go to the NFL? I mean, Clemson is likely going to fall off a bit, and his market value may slip some with it. If he would cash in now and try the NFL and fail, he’d still be a hot hire for a CFB gig afterwards and he could cash in again.
Just a thought

Saban's staff has had extreme turnover pretty much since the beginning. Bama just keeps on rolling. Completely changed offensive styles and didn't miss a beat. That's why Saban is the GOAT. He'll adapt even if he doesn't like it. This is gonna be Dabo's greatest challenge. Will be interesting to see how he responds.

Yep. Saban doesn't use the 'buddy system' when it comes to replacing assistants. Easier to be an effective manager that way.

He's a great evaluator of potential success.

We knew this day was in our future but the timing all of it at once is a little rattling. At this point there's no reason to doubt Dabo in his ability to build staff and a team. Over the years Dabo have built the staff to take Clemson from an .500 team to what they are today. Not going to be easy to replace what Clemson has lost but this isn't Dabo's first rodeo
