Carlos Santana is one of the most overrated musicians of all time. If it weren't for him being at the right place at the right time and pulling off that lousy, drug-fueled show at Woodstock, he'd be playing the local Ramada lounge on Wednesday nights before trivia.

When I was a kid, that stupid ass Smooth song was everywhere. I never bothered to look into his catalog when I was older because of that. Black Magic Woman is really the only other song of his that I know, and I can take or leave it

Nope, though they run a very tight #1 and #2 on my list of all-time most overrated musicians. Take the drugs and distortion pedal away and Jimi Hendrix was as good as any other 14 yr old kid playing pentatonic scales.

A vast chunk of those old bands were utter dogshit. They just had the benefit of LSD and freaks. 90% of the Laurel Canyon scene's albums were recorded by session groups and they SUCKED live.
 
Mushrooms are disgusting unless they are the psychedelic ones, but even they are disgusting.

Same with melons, any melon. Watermelon, Cantaloupe, Honeydew. They all suck and they taint everything they touch.

You may like his music but he's still an absurdly overrated musician. I hear guys trying to put him with the all-time great guitar players because he could play blues scales and it just blows me the fuck away. Putting this clown in the same sentence with Stevie Ray.

Well, no one is in SRV's class. But to rip that hard on Carlos is ludicrous. I don't know if he'd make my top 5 but he has some serious chops.
