He was at the right place at the right time and rode a wave of popular opinion to where he is today. He's a good guitar player, just like my 14 yr old neighbor.

Agreed, that's two very different things but let's all just admit that calling Carlos Santana one of the greatest guitar players ever is utterly laughable.

If he went to Nashville right now as a guitar player, he'd impress no one. In fact, he wouldn't even get anyone's attention.

That said, astonishingly, he'd get even less attention as a songrwriter.

So, we're right back to square one: if not for being in the right place at the right time in Woodstock and if not for a bunch of drugs and distortion, this guy'd be playing Wednesday nights at the Ramada before trivia night.

Baseball people want Rob Manfred fired.

What would that accomplish? The owners would just replace him with a Manfred clone.

Rob Manfred is just doing what his bosses are telling him to do.

Unless we can find a way to fire the owners, firing Manfred won't accomplish shit.

Same goes for Goofdell and the NFL.

Blaming the commish is for dumb people (which is why virtually everyone does it).

It would be awesome if that was true in our society.

We've got thousands of sheeple who run for a governmental offices every year and choose a (D) or (R) next to their name based on how closely their opinions match one of those two herds' collective opinions. Then money starts pouring in from the sheeple boosters of whichever sheeple herd that sheep chooses. Then millions of sheeple vote for the sheep based primarly on which herd they belong to. The winner sheep gets to choose how my money gets spent and how much of it.
