Who Does Oklahoma talk to, throw a name in the hat.

Awww, you don’t like that I laugh at your ego. I get it, you think you are better then you are.

Good luck in your bowl game, hopefully you guys get a good team at full strength and don’t embarrass yourselves and the league this time.

Joe Brady is now available.

It’s Venables huh

Brent Venables by himself is an A hire for OU. If Jeff Lebby comes with him it's an A+.

If it’s Venerable why is it taking so long? This should be locked up.

Still no official word. :sigh:

Ol' Ven-boy want's one of those 10 year/$10 mil contracts that have been landing lately?
That would be a ridiculous ask with no HC experience. I could see him in the 7 mill area with incentives. Kiffin just got 7.5mm and he had the most wins for a single season in Ole Miss history.

"the new deal will keep him in Oxford through 2025, adding a year to his contract. Also according to the report, under Mississippi law, Kiffin can only be contracted for four years at a time as a public employee."

Does Oklahoma have the same law?

I can be pretty confident a Venable contract will be north of $7.5 mil

The landscape is changing. The new default is going to be be 1.5x of what it is now. You and OU are proceeding from an old playbook. It’s being rewritten right now, in case you haven’t noticed.

That law is length of contract and they get around it with an automatic renewal of one year after each year. They could pay him more.

I’m just saying Venable isn’t a slam dunk and honestly his demeanor may not translate into a successful HC (see Muschamp). I wouldn’t get too deep into him right away and give him a strong base with incentives Instead.

Riley (who'd never been a HC) was making $7.5 mil/year for 6 years at Oklahoma.

The new norm (this year) for big boy schools has been set at 10 years.
