I don't know as that I'd be writing him off.

He took over a bottom feeder program and hasn't won fewer than 7 games since his first season when he won 3. In 2020 they won the Big 12, played in the Fiesta Bowl and finished #9 in the nation. They are currently 2-0 coming off a win over Iowa.

When was the last time Nebraska did any of that?

You're talking about winning it when I've CLEARLY been talking about competing (in the discussion) for it.
i.e. Top 2 or 3, not the bottom 2 or 3.

You also forget Northwestern who's won it twice in the last 4 seasons.

Nebraska will pay the going rate for their next head coach and it'll be the typical 5 year deal with extensions and bonuses.
Nebraska is not hurting for money.
