Sometimes that "we've got to be physical" doesn't work out like they plan. "Our OL is real physical." Yeah, when they actually make and maintain contact with the opposing team's player you are supposed to itis great. When they whiff and/or don't finish off, what the hell good is "being physical"?

Did Ohio fans realize when they lose they look for the nearest excuse? It is never physicality when they get little to no pressure against any team who has comparable talent.

Why do you think Day screamed about being physical and tough after beating ND? It is because everyone views Ohio the exact same way. Every time a team does this to Ohio though, their fans point the finger everywhere else. It is this DC fault, it is the new DC fault, it is play calling, it is Stallions, it is fluke plays. There is one common denominator. It is Ryan Day.

Your obsession with this supposed lack of Physicallity is completely retarded.

It's not an excuse its a fact that our DL just isn't very good overall, it's got nothing to do with lack of physicality, it's got everything to do with them not being developed at fucking all. And yes that does come back to Day in the end for keeping Larry Johnson SR on the staff. Being "physical" don't mean shit if you aren't good at anything else.

Who elses fault for lack of development at DL could it possibly be besides the fucking DL coach? lol. Larry Johnson is directly responsible for the DL underperforming for the last few years.

I'm not even defending Day, I want him gone, but you pretending like there aren't major coaching issues with the DL is laughable.

They had 8 penalties for 70 yds to Oregon's 3 penalties for 25 yds.
Ohio St had 1 turnover to Oregon's 0.
Oregon had more rushing and passing yds.

The only stat Ohio St won was time of possession...

Should have been 2 turnovers since Oregon's INT never got reviewed.

I can't really blame OSU for either play though. It was Oregon just taking the ball away more than careless play on their part.

All those penalty yds typically means you're getting beat somewhere.

Ohio St's DB's were getting beat consistently. I don't recall the breakdown on penalties.

Nebraska had 10 penalties for 89 yds against Illinois' 3 penalties for 20 yds.
The result was a loss for Nebraska. They were getting beat up front.

A lot of OSU's penalties (5-6) were a direct result of crowd noise, fwiw

This. OSU secondary gave up 80% completion and 10 yards an attempt (34 attempts). They didn’t stop the short, medium, or long pass. That is just gross.

Good thing Ohio fans don't make excuses. Ohio had elite game changers on the defensive side of the ball under Meyer, but that had nothing to do with Larry Johnson. But under Ryan Day, it is now Larry Johnson's fault.

I posted this on the actual game thread: I think the Buckeyes have what it takes. I know their defense is looking strong, really strong. Only thing is tOSU hasn't been really tested yet. Their opponents are a combined 12-15. Now, what they did against Iowa looked great. I can't wait.

Then some replies that came through about Idaho and Boise State testing Oregon. It is about being battle tested in some ways. I mean, shit man, Boise State scored 34 on Oregon.

I think having 3 generational type DL in the Bosa’s and Chase Young had a lot to do with that. Meyers Ds always had problems too though. Usually either the pass or rush D was good and the other was bad.
