World Cup Qualifying

People need to get ready for when Pepi scores on Mexico in November and Funes Mori missing sitters. Internet gonna straight up explode.
I was wondering why we didn't see him in gold cup or nations league, but made his decision just two weeks ago. He was quiet in the first half, but who wasn't wth that lineup. Midfield was a gaping hole of nothing. But second half he was involved in everything once players and formation changed. Fucking Berhalter waits 2 1/2 games to figure it out...at least for now. You know if that was against England in the World Cup the deficit would probably been 3 or 4 zip at halftime. Berhalter needs to get it right and soon or may still not survive Pepi or no Pepi.

Canada game was the headscratcher still.

I wouldn't have expected to get all 6 points in the away games. 4 is good

World Cup Qualifying is a crap shoot.

Mexico ties Panama.
Italy tied twice including against Bosnia.
Sweden beats Italy then loses to Greece.
Israel crushes Austria.
England ties Poland.
Sweden beats Spain.
France two ties and just broke their 5 game winless streak.

.... but Germany kicking ass again. 3-0 in these games, outscored their opponents 12-0..would have been 20-0 if not for Werner.

Good start for the Flick era.

Did you watch the games? Lichtenstein all Low, but the other two they looked great other than Werner. Nice to see he is playing Musiala and Wirtz and Adeyemi got time too.

Musiala start against Lichtenstein was first 18 year old to start for Germany since 1957 Uwe Seeler and if you know your German football history Seeler became a legend.

I didn’t get to watch the Lichtenstein match but saw some of the others.

Pulisic injury doesn't sound bad

UGH.

Pulisic and Reyna left off this round of qualifying due to injuries :(

2 home games though.

I expect 6 points
Weah back, McKenney on team (had to with Pulisic/Reyna out), Hoppe there, Chris Richards (Bayern property) there too.

I dunno. No Pulisic makes me nervous. He basically creates everything for us whether its a pass to set up the goal or the pass before the pass.

It does me too, but sometimes he tries to do too much himself with men's team. Different than how he plays for Chelsea. Like he doesn't trust his team mates. That can be a hinderance. Remember he got hurt in Honduras when score 1-1 and after he went off, score went to 4-1. All of sudden it seemed more of a team. We'll see though. Not happy Reyna missing too. This looks more like to Gold Cup team in some ways with Hoppe, Busio on squad.

While no Pulisic and no Reyna sucks, Jamaica is having some pretty big personnel issues of their own...

Michail Antonio, Jamaica's best forward who's been having a big season for West Ham, is curiously not mentioned in West Ham's list of players going out for international duty?

I don't know much about these players, but Ethan Pinnock, a Premier League center back (Brentford) has been pulled... replaced by a dude from the Jamaican premier league

Liam Moore (Reading) is questionable due to injury.

Leon Bailey (Aston Villa) out

So they could possibly be down 2 EPL/Championship center backs, winger, and their top forward

That is a lot of talent out there too. Leon Bailey I am very familiar with him when he was at Leverkusen. Always had a brilliant goal in him when he played Bayern. I think he might be the best Jamaica player. Is Bailey injured or a EPL restriction due to COVID?

This is good for the USA, evens things out a bit. Even if Pulisic healthy I heard he couldn't travel to Panama anyways due to EPL issues regarding that country. Was that every confirmed? That would have affected Zach Steffen too.

Looking forward to the games here. I have USA tomorrow, Germany Friday, USA Sunday, Germany Monday, USA Wednesday.

For us few Germany fans: Goosens and Gundogan out. Not really going to miss them. Hopefully more Wirtz, Musiala, Adeyemi playing.

Here is Panana roster. No one from England at all playing.

Lunacy. World Cup qualifying starts tomorrow and they are playing Nations League? Any advantage for this confusing Nations League? I still don't get it.

Leon Bailey is a thigh injury.

I heard that a week or so ago about the issue with UK-based players traveling to Panama too, but I believe the UK govt has since granted an exemption. I believe only for fully vaxxed players and they still have to quarantine after returning except they are allowed out once a day to play? Or something like that.

Would have affected Antonee Robinson as well as Steffen but I believe they are ok to travel to Panama now
