Worst P5 Conference Top to Bottom This Year?

Maybe if it were 5 years ago, but don't see a whole lot of "team SEC" talk. I see a LOT of team PAC and Team B1G going around.
Who in the heck is pounding their chest for the B1G? About the only thing the B1G can pound their chest about is academics and television viewership.

Agreed, the B1G is better at the top. 1-3 collectively. After that it's a pretty big drop to the #4 team. If you're saying FSU, Duke and UNC are the top 3, the ACC has Miami, Clemson, and Cuse who I think are top-25ish type teams. At this point, I think only Iowa is that in the B1G. Maybe MD, but man they haven't looked that great against a terrible schedule.

There honestly haven't been a lot of marquee non-conference wins this year. Texas over Bama, FSU over LSU, I think are the only ranked wins thus far(meaning the losing team is still ranked).
Miami would be 3-0 against the B1G 4-6 teams most likely, but it's hard to say with Cuse and Clemson. Cuse was in a game with Purdue to the end, and they're probably a bottom 3 team in the B1G this year with everyone they lost. Clemson obviously has the talent but something is just different with them these days as compared to the Lawrence/Watson years.

You're right though, for whatever reason I feel like we didn't see many really big OOC games this year. Bama/Texas and FSU/LSU are the only ones we've seen so far, but thankfully we get OSU/ND this Saturday. It'll be a big weekend for the top 25 but there's gonna be a ton of intra-conference cannibalizing going on.

Clemson at the moment has like 6-7 really talented players and then a bunch of guys that look like future real estate agents. They could probably beat good teams if they had a really good night, but not consistently. They are also liable to get stomped by teams like Duke. 8-4 is probably the best case scenario for them this year.

Duke looked "on par" athletically with Clemson in that game, that is not a good thing at all for Clemson.

This Saturday is going to be a big indicator of what to expect from Clemson. If they can bounce back and take care of FSU, that will be a major turning point. However if FSU beats them convincingly, I think we can officially say we're seeing a changing of the guard in the ACC.

I think FSU wins, maybe not huge but big enough.

The big part of BC hanging with them was BCs running QB killed them. Jayden Daniels was able to hurt them with his legs as well, but that game ended up getting too out of control for it to really matter.

Klubink is not a running threat at all, FSUs D will able to focus in and tee off on him, especially if Clemson's running game isn't getting it done. LSU and BC RBs werent able to really do much, it was all the QBs running.

I doubt FSUs offense has a meh day like they did against BC either.

Klub isn't a real threat but he will take off - he had 35 yards and a TD on the ground this last Saturday. The biggest storyline is going to be is FSU the conference frontrunner that will learn from their mistakes and bounce back for a big win, or will Dabo rally the troops to smell blood in the water and deliver a KO to FSU's season. Clemson is better than BC in every imaginable way, so I think it should be a very good game.

I'm willing to give FSU a little benefit of the doubt. I don't think LSU is great but they did handle them easily. Games like BC happen sometimes. It's hilarious nobody wanted to drop them for it, but they do happen.

Clemson is going to be roadkill if they have a showing like they did against Duke. You're right though we will find out more who the real Clemson is in this game, those Charleston Southern and FAU games tell us dick. Though they did have a struggle with Charleston Southern for a half. All we know is that they got ran over by Duke.

The Big 12 is absolute dog food this year, but the future is bright. Just a bunch of teams having a bad year at the same time. However, the future is bright. Heading to the Alpo Bowl this weekend between Oklahoma State (2-1) @ Iowa State (1-2). Will be my 7th time to see them play each other with the 'Pokes holding a 3-2-1 lead. However, last time I saw them play, Brock Purdy, Breece Hall and Charlie Kolar were still wearing cardinal and gold. Let's Go State! I do love me an old fashioned Big 8 game.

FSU should have done way better against Boston College. Remember back when Boston College beat #9 Southern Cal in the same red bandana game back in 2014 (I think). I agree there are no conference world beaters so far. It is not only who is losing, but how they are losing. FSU beats LSU, then FSU struggles mightily vs. Boston College. What does that say? Hell, I don't know. Oklahoma State loses by a ton to friggin' South Alabama. Miami OH beats Cincy. What the crap? Purdue beats Virginia Tech, but Syracuse beats Purdue. Ole Miss drills Georgia Tech. West Virginia beat Pitt. Fresno State shuts out Arizona State while Sacramento State (who da fuq) beats Cal. Utah beats Florida. Texas beats Alabama in Tuscaloosa and the love started. Then, Alabama struggles against South Florida. Missouri defeated Kansas State. Rutgers takes care of Virginia Tech easily, and Tennessee did the same vs. Virginia. That is a long rant, I know. I missed some, but some things are true. Virginia, Boston College, Virginia Tech, and a few others make the ACC look bad. Cal, Stanford, Arizona State, Arizona, and a couple more make the PAC 12 look bad, but they have a lot of top tier so far also. But I mean, damn, Sacramento State beat Cal. Man, Baylor, Oklahoma State, and whoever else is making the BIG XII look like a dumpster fire. Currently, I call it a wash.

Utah over Florida is a 3rd one… I think.

“can’t win the he big one, join a mega conference and live vicariously through someone who will!”

OSU doesn't have that issue

(the vicarious part)

FSU will throttle Clemson if they play like they did vs. Duke, but you might be able to say the same if FSU plays the way they did vs. BC. It is funny though how the house was on fire when OSU beat Indiana 23-3 (27-3 rightfully if you count the TD that the refs mistakenly took away). I honestly hope we see both FSU and Clemson at the top of their game. It could be a really, really good game in that case.

It says over 12 games it’s hard to be really up for every game, especially college kids. It’s human nature to perceive some opponents as weak and it’s hard to be motivated. But great teams find a way to overcome that.

If they had a down game against someone like Louisville or Miami, it'd be a lot easier to stomach. BC lost to one of the worst FBS teams week 1, then barely escaped Holy Cross week 2. It's also not as if it was some crazy awful weather game that they could point to, it was a beautiful day outside. At best they can say they were looking ahead to Clemson but damn, that is one putrid win.

It sure was. I’m not arguing that. It was also a manufactured hype game for BC.

And I think Miami is good enough that a down game would cost FSU.

They play on 11/11, which is shaping up to be another MASSIVE week of CFB matchups, at least based on current rankings:

michigan @ Penn State
Ole Miss @ UGA
Miami @ FSU
USC @ Oregon
Utah @ Washington
Duke @ UNC

Depending on how things play out, there are also a number of other games that could be very interesting by then.

What you all typed above is so true. This is why I don't bet real money on college sports. I like the "fake money" advertisements cash out sites. Anyway, these are still kids to a certain degree. We have no idea what's in their heads? Some expect to just throw the uniforms out there, and that will do the trick and result in a win. FSU found out that is not the case... well close to it. Maybe Bama too. And a few others.
