morning

it is too cold out.

decided to go a different route regarding the leaves in my backyard this year and mulched the shit out of them yesterday...it might still result in raking them but for now I am satisfied.

morning all

Pretty chilly here too. There was light snowfall Sunday, I cleared mine and neighbors driveway, took about 30 minutes combined with a shovel, mainly just had to push snow down and off driveway

Mrs Pnk thinks it'll melt as 40's are in forecast for this weekend, but meh, wasn't hard to clear

Couldn't you just leave them where they are and have them turn into something? But I guess mulching them is pretty much the same idea

If you make a big pile, it will eventually decompose, but in the meantime it kills whatever is underneath it. Mulching gives a head start on breaking the leaves down and hopefully doesn't result in one big dead spot in the yard where the pile was.

Well January does start on "WTF" so
I'm ready to have December, January, & February over with. Maybe even first half of March. Ready to be "retired" or "semi retired" from coaching. Past weekend reminded me how I've not missed being at wrestling tournaments. Also how much I'd rather focus teaching/coaching certain kids instead of all of them. As well as not coaching with people I didn't choose. That goes for all sports and all schools.

100%

if I left the fuckers whole, they would just cover my grass through the winter and snow would kill everything....I don't want that

Bora Bora was cool....I don't think I'd go back.

Dodger's hoops team won their 2nd game, though I'm not sure I would count it. The other school didn't have enough girls for 7th grade team or 8th grade to be separate. So they combined & played Dodger's 8th grade team. Dodger's team only won by 1. Im guessing that decision was made as our 7th grade team would have probably dominated them. Same thing for Thursday's opponent but they must be decent as a combined team as the 7th grade is playing that one.

well if you have terrible soil anyway would that matter? But assuming you don't (I am saying this in general) then ya good idea not to do that

I can't say from personal experience but my best friend is a coach and my BIL is so I know what you are going through

It's also supposed to enhance your soil by providing nutrients. Hell if I know.

Sunday just irritated me. Grand was wrestling for the alma mater but yet I had to coach him. Those guys were way better wrestlers than me but can't seem to coach as well. Didn't think our OH school was bringing anyone and then 2 kids showed up (very average at best). The MS coach from there coached them and they got killed. Finally one of them come up & ask if I can coach him this time. I do and he wrestles completely different and hammers a kid that beat the kids that beat him. I didn't say a word to any of the coaches from either after that. Heck even the coaches from the regional training center we were attending were half assing it with some of my kids from our clubs & they were hosting the tournament at my alma mater. Wife knew I wasn't very happy with any of them. Heck cousin N1 wasn't pleased with Big E's results from it either.

Clearly you're a better coach
