If you paid more, you could get your shift covered.Going to SoCal at 5am. I have to suspend all orders until further notice.![]()
There were never any shortages. They just thought you were a dick so they made you wait.About 15 years ago I used to take my kids to McDonald's on occasion for Happy Meals, but got tired of getting sent to one of the four "Reserved" parking spaces because "we're waiting on fries, nuggets" or some other BS.
I used to call it "purgatory" because once you're in that "reserved" spot, you knew you'd now become their lowest priority or completely forgotten. You'd look in the rearview mirror and the rest of the cars were going through the drive-thru like there was no shortage of anything. You know damn well after 15 - 20 cars there were people getting fries, but there you sat. Of course they'd already taken your money at the first window before the person at the second window tells you to go park and wait. If they'd have told me at the first window I'd be sent to purgatory I'd have said forget it and drove off.
"Reserved" was a laugher anyway because that term is typically used for something special. There's nothing special about waiting in your car for 20 minutes for McDonald's.
To top that off a Happy Meal was often missing an item. There are only 4 items in a Happy Meal. 1) A burger or Chicken McNuggets, 2) Fries, 3) Apple Slices, and 4) a toy. How can you NOT get 4 fucking items in a box?
If I have to go in and wait in line to get the order right, then why did I go through the drive-thru to begin with?
I’m thinking the people at McDonalds must not like you. I think I might have gone to the reserved area like once or twice ever.
They'll hurry up with your order, but they'll use their band-aid covered fingers to wipe their ass with your burger bun. What would they do if you said no?

You think I'm sad that McD workers think you're a dick?

Every McDonald's I've seen in the last 10 years or so has these purgatories.
I've never ordered anything 'special'. Just straight off the menu stuff, yet still get told to go park in "Reserved Stall #_" 50% of the time. I've been sent there for just ordering a Big Mac, Fry, and Coke. That's was the entire order.
Once you're in that "reserved" stall you become a low priority because someone has to walk your order out to you. Many times you have to go back in because something's missing anyway.

That's a headscratcher. I don't even know who you are.I think you're getting over emotional about me being a dick.
^probably on a first name basis with the local McD employees^They stopped sending my to reserve. I’d park and get out and walk up to the counter so I couldn’t be forgotten
They yell,"Not It!" When they see his car pull into the parking lot^probably on a first name basis with the local McD employees^
with all the wild fires going around and not seeing any acknowledgment of it here, i was at Maui last month, ate at Micks on Front Street, knowing people went into the ocean to escape the fire, then hearing the low number of deaths, while knowing that's initial and the houseless population will only get counted to a certain point. still need to learn more on this, it sounded like they had a trace on the wild fires, kept them in control and then disaster. i know when i was there last month i commented to my friend who lived on another island how I thought it would look greener, it dried out a month ago. they were there a few weeks before hand and said the land was a lot more flush. i don't know, just sucks to know people have died and such a beautiful region has been lost and hope it gets built back up.went to oahu last month. fish of the day every day without fail was mahi mahi. friend who lives out there says it's always the case.
"Fires" on one hand... "Lava flows" on the other. From what I can tell, wasn't it just the dry weather overall, couples with winds from a hurricane, and a downed powerline that started a fire in the dry brush?"Fires" on one hand... "Lava flows" on the other. Throw in a potential Tsunami...
THIS is when it TRULY sux to live on an island in the middle of an ocean.![]()
I used it as motivation to just stop eating it all together. My fast food crutch has always been taco bell. When it got to a point (probably a year ago) where it cost $12 for like a 3 taco meal I was done. I can go to local taco places (Chela's in Ann Arbor for instance) and pay pretty literally the same price and get real tacos made with real meat/toppings. I haven't eaten fast food now in like 5 months probably (outside of getting the kids something occasionally). Fast food loses all advantages when you can get real takeout for the same price. I suspect they're going to find that out at some point soon. If I can pay $50 to take my family out to a restaurant or buy them all Mcdonalds, I'm not buying Mcdonalds; the place that originated the dollar menu.If I go to McDonalds, a Quarter Pounder with Cheese, medium fries and a soft drink now costs around $15. If I go to my butcher and ask him to cut a nicely marbled 12 oz. rib-eye steak, to toss on my grill, it will cost around $15.
WTF is up with fast food????? Are they fucking nuts?????????
Culvers is the only fast food place where the price is worth it for the quality of the food. They're actually service real food there.Culver’s makes almost all orders pull up and wait. That food is fucking bomb doe
Hula pie at Kimos (RIP) was amazing.with all the wild fires going around and not seeing any acknowledgment of it here, i was at Maui last month, ate at Micks on Front Street, knowing people went into the ocean to escape the fire, then hearing the low number of deaths, while knowing that's initial and the houseless population will only get counted to a certain point. still need to learn more on this, it sounded like they had a trace on the wild fires, kept them in control and then disaster. i know when i was there last month i commented to my friend who lived on another island how I thought it would look greener, it dried out a month ago. they were there a few weeks before hand and said the land was a lot more flush. i don't know, just sucks to know people have died and such a beautiful region has been lost and hope it gets built back up.
