WVU to the ACC

Oregon and Washington are believable for a number of reasons.
USC/UCLA are already on their way to the Big 10 next season, there will be no GOR exit fee, and Oregon/Washington are both AAU.

FSU and Clemson not so much since they are caught up in a powerful GOR and neither are AAU.

The tejas/Oklahoma $50 million exit fee's to get out of the Big 12 GOR (just one year early) will look like chump change compared to the 13 years remaining on the ACC GOR.

Oh I agree with all this but…ITS A LEGIT RUMOR!!

Gotta Love the media these days. No accountability at all..

WVU to the Missouri Valley Conference. Just announced.

I can't think of a team LESS suited to the Big Ten than Clemson.

Maybe Maryland, but that's it

Let's go through the recent rumors with the ACC:

1. The ACC is considering adding Oregon and Washington to the league - My understanding is by doing that it opens the GOR to being changed and gives those wanting an out the opportunity and I don't see them risking losing FSU, Clemson, UNC and probably several other schools by opening that door.

2. FSU is going to buy themselves out for 300mm - This is insanity and when you look at both the B1G and SEC deals they eventually get to 100mm but it tiers up and 30 mm for 10 years is just such a massive nut I don't think anyone could pull it off unless you borrowed the money from an endowment and paid it back over more like 30 years (if that was even legal).

3. FSU and Clemson to the B1G - Neither is an AAU school and honestly a pretty bad fit for the B1G as if they haven't created a big enough mess with adding UCLA and USC. I would just be shocked if that was a real possibility.

With the information, we know as fact all of this just seems very far-fetched and not very well thought out by the people proposing it. Now what I do believe is that FSU may be circulating these rumors to "upset the applecart of the ACC to help with their negotiations for a larger share of the revenue and this is what that is mostly about.

BiG needs a south school desperately.. I think FSU is probably their #1 choice.. UNC doesn't do much for football, which is why I think FSU is their top choice..also..GaTech could be up there too..

Everything you just wrote is speculation on your part.

The B1G doesn’t need anyone desperately that’s just hyperbolic.

If you think anyone can afford a 300mm buyout then you’re insane. From what I understand GT had the opportunity to join the B1G and turned it down so I don’t see great effort being extended to get them to join now.

UNC is one of the big prizes of the ACC and if they left for a new conference they could pick who they wanted.

they do need a southern school.. the problem is that until the ACC schools figure shit out, they can't pressure anything. majority of the talent is in the southeast.. shorter flights for most schools than flying out to CA

They may eventually desire a southern school but they don’t desperately need it and by adding one or two they make their scheduling (especially for non-football sports) a traveling nightmare.

Plus the B1G presidents are not going to be happy with FSU academically or the fact they are missing AAU status. You have a better argument for Miami joining.

BIG needs to poach the SEC. Texas A&M and Vanderbilt.

I've been surprised before, but this seems like that would be too many moving parts to actually be true. Especially given the ACC having a contractual lock on teams for a few more years.

But man, if true -- that would be the true end of the Pac12 and ACC. Other teams would filter to the B12 and SEC.
