Your punk Mount Rushmore

Isn't a whole lot of music "kinda pop" though? Almost all of the bands being mentioned here could be described that way.

I'm fine with keeping The Talking Heads out of this discussion but if the Ramones are not included? I've tried pasting a few different GIFs now but none of them truly captured my disgust. That's the degree we are talking about here
Yes, but the vast majority of "pop" music sucks a giant bag of dicks.

Most of the bands I posted as puck rock were pretty far away from anything POP... I hated pop, I looked for music that was against the norm in my teens... Nothing POP here

Then I lost the reference. ???
It stands for Other Music For Uplifting Gormandizers.

At different times in my life I may have a different line-up. And it's hard to pick just four.

The Pogues
Op Ivy
Dropkick Murphys
Grateful Dead

LOL, J/K, fuck GD.... The Ramones

The punk I grew up on consisted of suicidal tendencies minor threat dead Kennedys etc. Hell even the dead milkman were labeled punk back then. It just had to be either loud and fast or weird or both.

Talking Heads were a bunch of 80' techno-pop crap. I don't think I ran around with anyone in my group of thugs that listened to them.

I would highly recommend going back and giving them a listen. They're awesome.

I didn't like em' back then either.

The period of evolved Talking Heads. I don't see where Psycho Killer fits that definition.

Yep, they were a band that the bands I thought very highly of thought very highly of. I didn't understand why. I understand it much better now.

Some useless info...most of Faith No More/Mr. Bungle used to be in this band. (Billy Gould, Mike Bordin, Roddy Bottom and Trey Spruance)

I found it on vinyl fer $10 last year at muh local record shop. Never bought anything faster.
