There is a elementary school converted to a private residence in the small town nearest me. The interior is frigging awesome. A lot of work and money went into it. Bring your checkbook and imagination.
That's much more of a figure of speech than a thing people actually use these days.

I understand real estate quite clearly. It's not the house that's worth anything, it's the land it sits on
Oh, it's definitely way more valuable if they just knock that building down and split that up into 40 lots... Living in that school is a sign of insanity.
Even if they don't split the lots, knocking it down and rebuilding is way more sensible than trying to live in that building. Guaranteed that roof is leaky AF and the costs to repair it would be insane. ...And that's just the roof...
