So I had one of those reed diffusers that my friend brought me back from hawaii a few months ago. They generally last quite awhile. It was on my bathroom counter and the other day, I tossed a bunch of clean, folded hand towels next to it to roll into logs later on. Well, one of the edges was touching one of the reeds and it sucked up all the oil and now my hand towels REEK of Royal Hawaiian gardenia something or other :ohwell:

Keep them as guest towels.

I've got 2 1.0 Terabyte drives.

I also have Google cloud storage, Microsoft cloud storage, Norton cloud storage and Firefox cloud storage.

I don't want to lose any of my stuff. No, I'm not overcautious. You are imagining things.

you are ripe for someone to steal all your shit. amirite @HammerDown

I got too many computers and legacy hard drives from older computers I've salvaged.

Right now I've got 2 laptops, 2 desktops, and a Nexus 7 tablet from 2013. Then I've got 5 external HDDs for backups.

I've got 200+ CDs, DVDs with backed up data and even 200+ if not more 3.5 1.44 MG floppy disk drives with stuff going back to 1992.
Good news. The 3.5 floppy disk drives from 1992 still work and produce data!

I can't let it go.

I'll convert one of the older desktops to a Linux machine.

Oh, did I mention the thumb drives and the sim card/fingernail drives from the phones I had?

Fuck you all. I don't care.

They're washcloths that I use for hand drying in the restroom instead of paper or *gasp* using the hanging "guest towels" They are white, but you can see the oils have seeped all over the top 3 or four of them. Probably still have that lingering smell after I wash them. Maybe I could use them as dryer sheets.

or would they catch fire because it's an oil? :headscratch:

Now that I've looked them up, they are something I've seen before, but I didn't know what they were, nor what they were called, until your post.

This guy “can’t let it go” and still uses floppy disks but is giving us advice about blockchain and cryptocurrency.

Can’t make this shit up. :L

Also, I had bought a bunch of dahlia tubers at costco awhile back and I didn't know they were dinner plate ones. I thought they were the little 6-8" ones so now I have to figure out where the hell I'm going to put them all. I was supposed to have them in dirt last month and didn't get around to it so now I scramble

Maybe I should try to plant a few in the common area. This whole place looks like every resident just tosses some seeds in the dirt around their place and whatever pops up, pops up.

Toss em or use them as wicks for a tiki torch :beer2:

never said you were overly cautious. just you keep crap on old and more likely to fail drives lol. good to know i have 4 chances at your info though between firefox/google/norton/microsoft. surely they arent all the same passwords that maintain them too

more likely to fail drives lol.

Fucking peasant. Pay attention and you might learn something

All my floppies have been backed up to at least 2 CDs/DVDs. I DOD wiped clean 90% of the floppies and I'm waiting to sell them as collector's items. Market price now is $1 per floppy.

All my CDs/DVDs are duplicates/backups of what I have on internal and external HDDs.

Everything have on internal and external HDDs is backed up to at least 2 cloud drives.

My redundancy is redundantly redundant, then duplicated and backed up.

Edit: TWO FUCKING THOUSAND!
