2022 Season Thread

Checked the standings this morning.

They're about as hard to understand as a call by an nba referee.
Cindric, Kurt Busch and Hamlin are locked in the playoffs despite being buried deep in the standings because they pulled a win out of their ass in an otherwise shitty season for them. I only recognize the standings under the old Winston Cup system. Harvick is a 4 time champ, Elliott and Logano are zero time champs, Carl Edwards has two ships, Jimmie Johnson only has 3 and faggot Gordon has 7(as much as I wish he didn’t)

I blame Austin Dillon for getting into big of a hurry. He had a whole nother lap to make the pass he had 4 tires, Chastain and Larson had 2. Fuck him. He disgraces the Number 3
That fucker can’t drive. Mr. irrelevant

Busch and truck series champion with a prolific record on dirt. Change his bloodline and you wouldn't be saying that. He earned his ride and has done as well as anyone not named Earnhardt or Harvick in RCR equipment.

We’ve been through this before. You have your opinion, I have mine. 4 tires vs 2 tires and he fucks it up. He is a 25 place driver

25th place. Look I like you, but you're not capable of backing that up because it's not based in facts. He's been a consistent top 15 driver his entire Cup career in mediocre equipment. I think you might have Austin confused with Ty.

Wasting your time. Chewy has proved time and time again that he has totally irrational thoughts when it comes to Nascar. Hamlin never sniffed the lead pack before overtime, but somehow he feels Hamlin deserved to win more than Larson.

Chewy has a few good thoughts on na$car.

Music is the topic where he's a complete failure.

You hit the wall as hard as Larson did early in the race, that needs to end your competitive chances. He got bailed out by the composite body. Really, last night was a race that nobody deserved to win. Everybody in the field had major fuckups. I didn't even realize Harvick somehow finished third.

And you're not nearly capable of justifying calling Austin Dillon a 25th place driver, or that he didn't earn his ride. Nobody is because statements like that aren't based in facts.

He earned his ride but he didn’t earn the number 3. The only reason he got it was because of his granddaddy. Richard just blatantly disrespecting his best friend giving his number away. That shit should have stayed retired unless Dale Jr. wanted it.

I'm of the opinion that they never should have changed the number after Dale died. Dale wouldn't have wanted it. 8 was the original DEI number that Dale ran in the early Busch Series days and what he ran before NASCAR, 3 was Richard's number. Richard raced the 3 for years as an owner driver and Ricky Rudd got the first two wins for RCR in the 3. Dale had pretty well hand picked Harvick to be his replacement. Harvick should have been in the 3 to begin with.

That's like saying Geoff Bodine disrespected Alan Kulwicki by keeping the 7 when he bought out AK Racing after Alan died or Robert Yates disrespected Davey Allison by letting Kenny Irwin Jr drive the 28 or Kyle Petty disrespected Adam Petty by driving the 45 after Adam died

Ernie Irvan, Kenny was later....

It was, but still same team. Irvan was a proven winner when he took over the 28. It was 13 years after Dale died when Dillon took over the 3. You have to move on eventually.

Technically Nascar doesnt retire #'s Realistically you can hold a # you didnt use for one year. Then someone else can ask for that #. While No one used it because it was Dale's #. At some point someone would have claimed that #. RCR was smart to use the # & hold onto its rights.

Technically yeah,

But Actually na$car does whatever the fuck they want, their own rules be damned.

You can't retire numbers in NASCAR. There's only 110 numbers to choose from.

And what numbers are you gonna retire, and for who?

The 11 is the winningest number in the history of NASCAR, but Ned Jarrett, Cale Yarborough, DW and Hamlin all have legacies with the number.

And if you think legends deserve a number retired, what do you do with Bobby Allison, who bounced from team to team his entire career and has wins in like 15 different numbers?

if a new team came around & asked for a Number that hadnt been used in a over a year. Nascar Would grant it.
Now with the #3, Nascar would probably have told RCR they were about to give the # away if they didnt claim & use it. Would be my guess.

You never can tell with them. Apparently the dudes that owned Morgan-McClure(the Kodak car for Ernie Irvan and Sterling Marlin) took issue with Stewart-Haas using the 4 even though they had shut down years prior.

but SHR still got it.

Yep, and accomplished more with it than Morgan McClure ever did(well, except the 3 Dayton 500 wins).

But I'm not so sure NASCAR would have notified RCR, at least not while the pillhead Brian France was in charge.
