I've never tried to sew any covers on upholstery before but I've recovered them several times. You can find exact fits for your truck made to OEM specs usually. Granted its more than seat covers you buy at NAPA or PEP Boys., but with some hog rings and pliers you can re-cover them to factory fit and feel.

My seat is from a 96 ford truck. My other seat is from a 95 chevy, with the arm rest on the driver side.What year model is your truck?
That new I'd bet the frame and springs are all still good, likely the foam isn't too bashed down. Have you talked to any local upholstery shops just to get a range for them to do it? I tend to always think hiring the pro's to do something is going to be way more expensive than it turns out.My seat is from a 96 ford truck.
