I saw a recipe for Korean tempura that cuts everything in that size. Not sure how I feel about it. Would probably make life a lot easier, but since when have I ever made things simple? :laugh:

Damn. Now I want tempura, but I just made a big ol' batch of pasta sauce yesterday.

I've never done it, but I could swear I remember my friend pre-cooking the sweet potato, first, even though they were pretty thinly sliced.

I feel like it should be. How could it possibly cook through before burning? I did slice it fairly thin. I'll give it a whirl.
 
I don't have time to check other sources right now, but if this is true, OMMFG!!!

Research has determined Australopithecus (a form of early human) is 1 million years older than previously thought!!!

(I think it's pretty well established I'm a geek, but, yeah, the above is a window into the extent of my geekiness.)

The human species has certainly had enough time to develop into one or more advanced civilizations (that later disappeared or destroyed themselves - cue today, e.g.) at much earlier points in time than previously thought.

And to think, we’re 9 years away from global warming killing us all.
 
Just picked up a hockey stick after getting a text from my captain asking if Im playing next season and I can’t even move my shoulders enough to flex the stick anymore. I think I’ve reached the old AF stage in life and it’s time to just lay down and rot.
 
Happy to report that you do not need to parboil/bake sweet potatoes or carrots. Tempura veggies & shrimp were a success!

And I only burned myself once.
