Notice there isn't a single SEC team listed.....

Meh. Cupcake is a cupcake. No real difference between New Mexico State and Western Carolina

What is interesting with Iowa OOC scheduling is the FCS teams are usually better than the FBS teams Iowa plays OOC. Until recent years, that included the P5 team.

UGA’s FCS opponent last year put up a better fight that GA Tech and Vandy

Michigan's OOC is Colorado State, Hawaii and Uconn. There were SIXTY-TWO FCS teams rated better than Uconn according to Sagarin.

So, Michigan doesn’t have an FCS opponent, yet UGA will play more P5 opponents in the regular season.

I thought the B1G had a rule that required at least one major conference OOC game every season?

I think they dropped the "no FBS, 1 P5" during COVID. Did keep 9 conference games though.

Isn’t UConn going back to FCS?

It became more of a suggestion and less of a rule. Kind of likes B1G’s “rule” on not playing FCS schools.

That was a loosely required rule. It was something like you had to play a P5 team, or Cincinnati, Army, Navy and Uconn or some shit like that. They also had a rule you couldn't play an FCS team, but that didn't last long.

if it makes you feel better about your team, that's great.

Notre Dame, USC, and UCLA are currently the ONLY FBS teams to have never played an FCS team in football.

UCLA drops of that list this season on Sept 10th vs Alabama State.
Notre Dame drops off that list in 2023 if they follow through with scheduled Tennessee State.

That will leave USC as the ONLY FBS school to have never played an FCS school in football.

They are an independent FBS team at the moment. They have a contract agreement with CBSSN to have their home games broadcast through 2023, so they should be good for the next couple seasons.

Never Played an FCS team...but they have played like 100 High Schools, Athletic Clubs, and currently FCS schools before there was such a thing as FCS schools.

I refer to modern football.

Like post WWII

How 'bout giving USC credit where it is due?

Yep. Some FCS > Some G5 > Some P5

Too many are in denial about things such as this!

If USC played Rice 100 times do they lose any more than if they played Northern Arizona? A Vanilla cupcake and a Rocky Road cupcake with marshmallow and salted caramel icing are still both cupcakes.

I give 'em credit for playing USC every year...but honestly when you play in a conference that has 5 OOC ranked wins in the last 5 years including bowl games you have to do what you have to do...including leaving.
