FUCK!!!FUCK!!!FUCK!!!FUCK!!!FUCK!!!FUCK!!!FUCK!!!FUCK!!!FUCK!!!FUCK!!!FUCK!!!FUCK!!!FUCK!!!FUCK!!!FUCK!!!FUCK!!!FUCK!!!FUCK!!!FUCK!!!FUCK!!!FUCK!!!FUC

Bla bla bla more being retarded from Michigan n00b.

Please show me a Nebraska fan claiming elite as the goal.

Everyone I know, myself included, wants to be respectable and where we should be at least a contender in the B1G.

There's no reason we shouldn't be ahead of Wisconsin and Iowa every year. Recruiting has been largely better than them yet here we are....

Coaching matters and not just hc . There's been no development for years. Blo peeni never won the games that were not gimmies, Mike Riley didn't even hold guys accountable in the weight room, frost is in over his head and a buck short and a day late

I agree that a big part of the problem is not getting the right coach...so the real question is...why don't they get the right coach?

Part of the problem, it seems, is that your Huskers don't seem to hire elite coaches or even target them. Since Osborne, it seems like they go for guys like Pelini who coached at big programs, but have no head coaching experience...

Or they go for guys from lower level P5 schools that have overachieved (like Mike Riley) or had success at a G5 (like Frost). Are they doing that because they think they can get a really good coach on the cheap? I don't remember hearing about them doing like USC did with Lincoln Riley and targeting an established elite coach and throwing huge money at him.

Imo, until they do that, you're going to continue to get what you have been getting for the last 20 or so years.

We haven't had a head coach that could put all the pieces together. Bo was closest but all he did was win the games we were supposed and get blown out by actual competition.

I don't know if there's enough money to hire a coach like Lincoln Riley and tbf he's a bit unknown on whether could put it all together on his own too(without inherited staff and players). That's college football. Saban wasn't proven before landing in Alabama, hell Nebraska beat him at Michigan State before he failed for the dolphins. We lost our culture when we fired solich, having players that push other players in the off-season is monumental as well. There's no single reason keeping Nebraska down like some mouth breather would have you believe. If Nebraska lands the right coach(who gets all the pieces in the right places: development, recruiting, actual coaching assistants) it could all change, odds aren't looking great on finding it.

Funny you mention that because I almost said that maybe they're looking for the next Urban Meyer.

USC tried a similar approach 3 times after Pete Carroll, including twice with coaches who were from Pete Carroll's staff. We all saw how that worked out.

I wonder if Nebraska will take a big risk/swing and try to go after Urbs or Gruden (heard a couple of tv speculators speculatin' about that).

Time to hire the hookers and back the brinks truck up to CUM

Maybe they need to target the next Nick Saban reclamation project? Kiffin seems to have done well. The jury is still out on Sark, but recruiting seems to have gotten better for Texas since he was hired.

Maybe look to hire his current reclamation project...BOB.

He might bring down the Osborne legacy though. Alot of people are saying. well why wouldn't we hire Urban because Tom Osborne protected evil players just so he could win championships and its no worse than him.

I'll be honest, I'm not sure where Nebraska goes from here.

Obviously the Frost tenure isn't panning out as they were hoping. I don't blame his decision with the onside kick, as if it works then he is a genius (like Saban in the NC against Clemson after scoring), but it was the defense that let them down late in the game.

Frost proved he could coach when he was at UCF, but it just seems like recruits just don't want to go to Lincoln anymore. If Frost doesn't turn it around this year and is fired, I have no idea who Nebraska can bring in that'll turn it around.

People have been talking about Pete Golding (DC of Alabama) as being on a short list. I have never been impressed with him so Nebraska can have him.

Bill O'Brien is the only ex-coach project currently at Alabama, but I'm not sure in Nebraska will entertain that.

Yeah, hiring Urbs would definitely bring some heat for them....but once they start winning,,,eveyone will forget.

I didn't see this one. I can see Nebraska getting to Iowa and Wisconsin's level. Getting to Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, etc. level is NEVER happening in today's CFB, as Nebraska simply can't recruit like those schools.

I can see Nebraska getting to the level of being competitive in the B1G West and battling to win the West once in a while, but CFP's and national titles aren't happening unless they find someone to buy them recruiting classes like A&M did.

And I agree -- coaching does matter, but unless you have elite recruiting, you aren't going to be elite in today's game. It is why Texas can become elite again if they find the right coach. Florida can become elite again if they find the right coach. USC can become elite again if they find the right coach. LSU can become elite again if they find the right coach. You get the idea. They are in talent rich states where they can consistently sign top 5 to top 10 recruiting classes.

Urban Meyer isn't going anywhere near Nebraska. His legacy is set in CFB. If OSU opened again, I could see him going there.

You could tick off the schools Meyer would return for. The only school not located in a talent rich state Urban Meyer would go to would be Notre Dame. He called it his dream job as he was a fan growing up and has coached there before as a WR coach.

The rest of the schools are the big one's in talent rich states:
OSU
USC
Georgia (maybe, not sure if the whole he coached at Florida would make UGA uninterested if they were looking for a coach)
Texas
LSU
Florida State (Florida is out, but Meyer has a ton of connections in the state, I could see him going to FSU)

Personally -- I don't think he even comes back to coaching unless OSU opens again though. Just my opinion though.

this was true 2 years ago...but now with NIL - Nebraska can compete with anyone.

You trying to catch up in post count? Only reason to engage with a mouth breathing fool like that. He thinks his opinion is law, it's amusing as long as you know what you are getting into when you go replying to him.

Lol you have no clue. Recruiting can make it easier but it's not the only way. Are you 12?

Again, nobody is talking about Nebraska winning natties right now, so your retarded comments are just that - retarded
Tell me about all the teams who win national titles without elite recruiting? You tried using Clemson, who won their titles with 5 star QB's from the state they are located on the border of.........Georgia.

The list has to be really long. Or is it just a coincidence that the "elite coaches" winning national titles happen to located in talent rich states?

im 1,300 behind you i need to
Nebraska needed to do what A&M did and go all in on the NIL right away, before a lot of other schools even joined the fray. That was their best chance.
Now everyone has NIL programs so unless Warren Buffett gives them a blank check -- they have no advantage over anyone.
