RCR gave a contract to Kyle's kid in the name of Kyle's mom, first option on the kid to drive for RCR.
 
Where did RCR get their third charter from?

So I guess Reddick will be driving the 33 next season?
 
Childress said Austin Dillon came to him about signing Kyle, Richard told him to set up a meeting.

I might have kept my Harvick fandom when he left for SHR, but I never stopped being an RCR fan too. I stuck with RCR when every other Dale Sr fan became Dale Jr fans.

If I can pull for Robby Gordon, Johnny Sauter, Jeff Green, Dave Blaney, Casey Mears, Paul Menard, Daniel Hemric and Austin Dillon, I can pull for Kyle Busch
 
Questions over, no mention of Reddick's number, sponsors are committed for Kyle but no mention of who, 8 crew chief stays with 8 because Richard said Kyle is long term and Reddick isn't.
 
Also Richard said he talked with Reddick an hour ago and informed him he wouldn't be driving the 8 next year and the crew chief change for next year.

Lame duck season for Reddick, he’s gonna be treated like Johnny Benson was at Roush in the 90’s
 
Also Richard gave Kyle a box with the watch in it that he took off to smack him years ago.
 
Twitter seems to think RC is bluffing about the third charter for next season and is trying to get 23XI to buy out Reddick’s contract
 
I was kind of hoping they'd make a WWE type work out of this deal, have Kyle and Richard have a fake argument and then Kyle gets Richard in a headlock and gives him noogies to get even.

But with that said, I don’t think he’s bluffing. RC has been talking about adding a third ride a few times this year, and would probably plan on using it for Austin Hill in 2024, though I don’t think Austin Hill is ever gonna be more than a decent lower division driver. No shame in that, but nothing I’ve seen in him looks like a Cup worthy driver. But at the same time, the only notable thing Jimmie Johnson did in the Busch Series was lose his brakes at Watkins Glen and knock the wall down, so I guess you never can tell until they get a real chance
 
Something I didn't pick up on yesterday that I think is funny:

"Childress said he spoke to Tyler Reddick about an hour before the announcement that Reddick would not be in the No. 8 car next year. It was a less-than-subtle reference to Childress saying previously he was not aware of Reddick’s announcement to 23XI Racing in 2024 until about an hour before it was made.
Said Childress of his conversation with Reddick Tuesday: “I just told him we had a contract to race next year and I’ll talk to him later about keeping him posted on how it’s going and what we’re going to be doing, how we’re going to put it together.”
