Champions League 2022/2023

LFC hangs on after scoring late. Plenty of missed chances. It could have been 5-1. Can't finish. Defense was better but LFC had a large portion of the possession. (Or so it seemed) Still take the 3 points we badly needed. The dude from Ajax scored on a rocket. Nice shot.

Badly need 6 points from next 2 UCL games, Rangers @Rangers if they want to have a chance to advance.

Spurs disappoint, Liverpool barely escapes, Porto clobbered. You never know what you will get in UCL. These groups never as easy as they look sometimes. Bayern in a Group of Death probably in the drivers seat now for one of two spots. Still have Barca on the road, but Inter at home and two with Pilsner still. I'll drink a Pilsner to that.
Kane will look sharp up front for Bayern next year…

Hernandez looks like he might be out for a long time with a torn abductor. Pavard also hurt. Upa too. Upa minor. Looks we are going to see a De Light/Upa center back and Mazroui/Phonsie wing backs going forward

Had to win at home today. It is actually a pretty tough group: Napoli, Ajax, Rangers no pushovers. Remember Rangers made Europa final last season.

We sure did. The group isn’t easy at all you are right. I fully expect to have least 1 draw with rangers which could severely hurt. I’m not sure if I should be rooting for draws the next 2 Napoli/Ajax games or one of them to just blow the other out of the water in both. It’ll be tough.

Was very impressed with Bayerns resilience today. Thought for sure Barca would score but was happy they didn’t and in the end glad you guys came out on top. I forgot how quick Sane is, very nice win today. Puts you guys in a hella good position To win the group.

Bayern stole that game today. Barcelona was very good today. Xavi has a very good team. Today's game reminded me of past Bayern failures against Real Madrid. Dominate the game and weird stuff happens, such as bad red cards or uncalled offsides, and Real Madrid wins. Somehow Bayern has Barcelona's number.

Happy for you Liverpool came through today. Being a German I love Klopp. I root for Klopp. Of all the powers in England, Liverpool is my team. Being a Bundesliga fan with the 50+1 rule, Liverpool kind of like a Bundesliga team. No country owns them. Their management is superb. They don't have money to burn, but what they have they have used wisely. Diaz, Allison, Salah, Thiago, Van Dyke hopefully Nunez all great signings.

Don’t bring up those RM matches. Marcelo’s handball in the box is haunting.

P.S. Only reason I was able to watch Bayern today is that I had bone graft dental surgery this morning before the game and "couldn't" go back to work. Just felt well enough to watch the game. You do what you can to support your team lol.

Also, Ronaldo offsides in extra time when Neuer broke his foot and Vidal's phantom red card in same game. Remember that?

Oh yeah. All horrible. And Bayern kept drawing RM. it seemed inevitable.

P.S. Wife used a stretcher to get me to couch....and bring me a few Kona Long Boards.

Sounds painful. Hope you’re on the mend. At least you got to watch the match eh.

Thanks man, LFC does have good management and I don’t totally hate John Henry. (I just don’t want him to dump all the money into nascar lol) They certainly have done some wise things, even if at the time it seemed dumb. (Suarez, Countinho come to mind). I’m hopeful signing these young guys they did the last few years will work. Diaz is certainly a stud and Nunez has Harland potential. Time will tell. Need another midfielder and center back depth. Time will tell. You are welcome to be a red anytime buddy!

I truthfully thought Barca could have been up 2-0, I was happy they weren’t and happy Bob Lew didn’t get his goal(s) I thought he would. You guys are a world class organization, I will admit I don’t know much about your management but they seem to give a shit. That’s how it feel in Bundesliga. I wish it was more like that in the EPL and English football. But many of the owners only care about their pocketbooks and cashing that next check with spending as little as possible. Unless it’s sheik money, then they will buy anything.

Big games for Germany today. Man City vs Dortmund. Haaland returns to Dortmund. Dortmund defense strong but offense sucks. Leipzig vs Real Madrid. Leipzig been shit, but have new coach and looked great over the weekend. They have a talented team offensively, but defense shaky. No Benzema for Real. Could be interesting.

Dortmund looking good today. Defense has not allowed a shot on goal. And a great goal from Bellingham. Sule looking really good today. So far.

That was quick.
Haaland with the winner. Haaland special. A kung fu move and in the net. 13 goals for Haaland this season already. Guy is a machine.
