They're likely to delay it.



Both teams would rather roll with their SPs than have them get an inning or two of work and then be delayed and have to go to the bullpen.

This is the smart way to do it, which is surprising that MLB is even considering it.

Both teams pens had to cover a lot of innings yesterday. They probably want some length out of their starters today. Judging by the radar though, there’s not much of a chance it starts on time and despite my earlier confidence, a good chance it doesn’t get played today at all

Yeah…I’ll believe it when I see the powers that be agree to the smart thing and push the game to tomorrow.

It does not benefit either team to face stops and starts with their starters and the BP for both teams deserve a break today.

Looking at the radar, that rain is going nowhere anytime soon. I look for an eventual postponement.

My dad doesn't drink, so he usually heads to the DD stand to get a free soda when he comes with us.

Rookie mistake to be in the stadium this early though, people should be in the parking lot drinking still.

at Tiki Bar Opening last year they had a DD tent with Liquid Death.

I will tell you what, that helped when you are drinking all day.

Then what? Do the remaining games all get pushed back too? I doubt they'd do that. That would mean four games in a row with two travel days? I'm guessing they'd rather start it tonight.

I’m guessing they will too. Checking the radar it looks like the rain pulls out around 8. Since tomorrow is a travel day I fully expect this to be the way it plays out.

When I spoke on it earlier I was thinking the rain just goes off and on all night. Stops and starts suck as much as cramming games in to catch up. Possibly a little more considering how yesterday went for both pitching staffs.

I think they're planning on playing tonight. Obviously, if they get 2 inches of rain, it complicates things, but as long as there aren't torrential downpours that puddle the field, they're going to try and get it in. Not even trying to play on it is smart, keeps the infield dry.
