TV Series Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon

Wow! What a great find!

I know the answer to your question, but I'm gonna let you keep watching & find out....either at the end of season 2 or sometime in season 3.

Hey @ill

Now you've been told this by 2 different posters!
and this is why there is the Greens and the Blacks

I am a Green.

you are a Black.

Well, I'm actually white, but for the purposes of the Targaryen Civil War, I'll be a black.

I'd actually like to see them do the Dunk & Egg stories...that was a fun read.

I'd imagine as long as this universe remains HBO's most popular, they will use as many storylines for new seasons as they can. The only problematic issue i could potentially see with them is that they are short stories and fleshing out a full series might be a difficult task.

Real me wear black. Queers wear green.

Old biddy should have smoked them. Made things far less complicated.
The Mrs said the same thing “just smoke em all, one fell swoop”.

Which, makes the most logical sense….but, then that takes one whole side off the board. So, TV shows.

I’m just going to take it that she was saying “y’all done fucked up, I’ll be seeing you”. But, I totally get any gripes with it.

Aside from that I thought it was quite the good episode. Alicent in a race with her own father to find Aegon was great.

I seriously thought he way Aegon was looking at that blade in the carriage that he was going to get up there and off himself in startling fashion. Then we get King Aemond. Ooffff. But, the dipshit saw something he liked, adoration of the crowd.

^^^yes...what you said is pretty much pretty much how I feel about it. I don't buy the old Princess didn't off everyone at the end. She was dressed for war and could have ended it all there. But then we don't get next season. And the club foot guy jacking off to the Queen's feet ...I think it's poor writing. I can't even imagine a circumstance in reality where the queen would allow that to happen unless she herself was aroused by it. The queen looked disgusted, so arousal wasn't the purpose. A queen would have grown tired of this and had his head removed long before last night.

Other than those two things, for me this was finally an episode where things got going. It has been a snooze fest up until this point.

I liked them finding Aegon who was running the slums, not wanting the crown. I had hoped his brother was going to kill him. But them showing Aegon changing and falling in love with the power of the crown was cool. But like I said, he should already be dead, but here we are and I'm ok with it.

The kid fighting pits was weak writing, but that got us an introduction to what this worm lady is about. I like her.

I hope I haven't seen all of the exciting scenes in the previews for the seasons final episode. It has potential. For me, this was the best episode so far.

Ok, so you guys are spoiling all over the place so I'm free to address the issues.

1. Foot fetish - The thing with GOT is that these characters have always been so depraved that we watched a brother rape a sister in front of their incestuous child's coffin and didn't blink an eye. Just a normal day in GOT world so HOD is going for the same vibe they just have decided to use masturbation for their shock value and meh. I'm sure it has to do with lowing the violence to women thing as the show has plenty of woke elements but it's fine and I'd rather not view another rape to be honest. This doesn't move the needle for me.

2. Missed Opportunity - This I can never forgive. There isn't a Lancaster or Stark that wouldn't have pulled that trigger and to me, this is a massive departure from GOT character. The writers wrote themselves into a box because they wanted to showcase a dragon and their solution was unforgivable. If you watch the after show the reasoning was that the Queen that never was just couldn't pull the trigger and kill a child in front of their mother....then he says "some people will have an issue with that". Well fuck yeah I've got a problem with that. Don't write your ass off, build tension through the roof and then just throw water on it. Absolute failure on part of the writers is unforgivable and destroys that character. Obviously, I'm not giving up on the show over this but it's now tainted.

I mean….it wouldn’t absolutely mean the end of the show if all the Greens were wiped out. The Queen who never was could have just wiped them out and taken the throne, leading to a Targ vs Targ war.

That still could have been compelling, but it would have thrown away all the build up for team Green, and that makes no sense. In the end I just shrugged and left it at her saying “y’all done fucked up, see you later”, but it’s a really crap thing.

Maybe if she just blew the back half of that huge chamber out with flame and the Hightowers can see her heading out, but to have them all dead to rights and not do anything was lame.

The foot fetish didn’t bug me so much. It was major creepo, but I don’t struggle with it. Alicent could have him wiped out at any point. So why does she do this? Maybe because what he brings her for intel and is willing to do for her is just actually worth this major grossness to her. She was raised and groomed that you will do such gross things for the power. It’s not alien to her.

The White Worm wasn’t just introduced last night. That’s Mysaria, who was with Daemon earlier in the season. She’s running the spy ring in KL as we saw last episode.

The kids fighting pit was met with derision from me when shown (“great, more kids fighting”) but it made sense in so many ways later. All last week I wondered if Mysaria MIGHT be helping Daemon with intel, but she’s not. She has been doing this to prove worth to the Greens on what she can do for them. And she has a personal ax with the kid fights she wants stopped.

You didn’t like the jacking off over some bear toes scene?

The Rhaenys-dragon-bursting-out-of-ground-at-coronation scene and Larys foot fetish were both invented for the TV series and not in the book.

These TV writers... :L

In the after-show producers notes vignette that they showed if you streamed the episode, they said she didn’t crisp all the usurpers because it was showing that she had some compassion.

Where was that compassion for all the rabble the dragon killed as she busted through the floor? Or as the dragon was moving in the room (they actually showed people flying 50 feet after getting clubbed by the dragon’s tail). Her not ending it all there was not a show of compassion of attempting to avoid bloodshed. It was just a story telling device.
