I don't really care for wait fishing. Sitting in a boat with yer shit just hanging there waiting for the off chance that a fish swims by it.

I like to pursue them.

If I am wading a river, I will hike my fucking ass off in chase.


Bout the only time I drink and fish is when floating. Which is most of the time anymore.:nutswinger:

I am so super looking forward to my trip at the end of the month. But I definitely will be bummed if I don't catch anything. But if I do...

this. its fun to watch the kids catch a fish from the other side of the lake...but i like to chill and watch

People use trout as bait to catch striper, brah, and I’m sure true gar would eat em too, but the best way to catch a gar to to whack it in the head with a old cloth mop so it gets its teeth tangled when it attacks
 
I once caught a 7 pound catfish on a chunk of hotdog bun, wetted and squished into a ball over a treble hook. lulz

You’d hate my cat fishing trips on the river. Head upstream in the boat and tie a bunch of lines to tree branches and bait em up with talbi worms and cut bait, and check em every few hours.

You’d love my crappie fishing trips though. Grub lures and a sunken tree and you can catch em all day

Agreed.

Listen, I don't mind trot lines en sech, if I'm looking for dinner. But yes, I find actively pursuing them much more fun.

The catfish, striper and gar are usually gonna be the top predators of their body of water. The panfish and crappie don’t eat trash

Once drunkenly left a stringer full of cats tied to the boat.

By morning there was nothing left but a couple of head and spines. The stripers had stripped that shit clean. These were good-sized cats too!
