Fickle is the new Wisconsin head coach

I’d call the Brian Kelly era while Cincy was still in an AQ conference Cincy’s peak, not the Fickell G5 era.

I was saying he wasn't going to do any better than he already did.

Same reason Kelly left.

He peaked. They peaked.

WhoPhoneDis (a.k.a. TrustMeIAmRight) had Jim Leonhard as HC at Wisconsin and Mickey Joseph as HC at Nebraska.

Guaranteed!!!
Since you seem to think no one is turning down the Nebraska job, even though it is on record -- I will bet you a lifetime avy bet, Nebraska doesn't bring in one of the top coaches to take over the program, like LSU and USC did.

Nebraska fans seem to think they have a blank check to give to whoever they want to take over the program, so obviously one of the elite coaches in CFB should be taking over the program.

I would almost bet my life it ends up being Mickey Joseph or some coordinator from an actual elite program that ends up being HC. No established head coach in CFB is leaving a job to go to Nebraska knowing they truly believe they should be competing with the Alabama's, Georgia's, Ohio State's, etc. when you have zero talent in state or around you, the two states you used to be solid recruiting (texas and cali) are no longer truly options as you play in the Midwest now and you have no national rivals anymore.

It has to really burn you that everything I say becomes reality.

I can't wait until Mickey Joseph becomes HC at Nebraska and I can once again say, I told you so. Then again -- who knows -- maybe Wisconsin offers Mickey Joseph and he decides to take the better job.

There is nothing left to say -- Nebraska fans have already conceded -- their days of being nationally elite are over. I don't have anything else to say about Nebraska until they hire Mickey Joseph to be their full time coach. Then I will post my usual, told you so. :beer2:

You so DESPERATELY want something to hang over me because everything I've said about Nebraska has come true. FYI -- next is Mickey Joseph getting the HC job, because no top coach is going to Nebraska and dealing with the unrealistic expectations while having such a big recruiting disadvantage.

I read just fine. All you are doing now is moving the goal post to try and have your comment make ANY sense. You sound like an idiot, but I enjoy it, almost as much as I do about being right about Nebraska. (Just to remind you again -- Mickey Joseph will be your next coach :beer2:) I will keep reminding you as I see your mind is going or you have selective memory.

@Red_Alert -- you didn't bring in one of the top coaches, like I said -- you brought in the coach who was just fired. That being said -- I think Rhule will at least get Nebraska on the same page. The issue for him at Nebraska is the recruiting. He is a guy who isn't keen on recruiting and that is the last thing Nebraska needs, as you know as well as I, you have to travel to recruit at Nebraska as it is bare around you.

I think Rhule will get you guys competing for the B1G West again, but he isn't going to have Nebraska being competitive nationally.

Again, where the hell did I hear Jimmy L would be the Wisky HC?
I thought it was all but written in stone. No idea why they went to Fickell. Maybe the year he was HC at Ohio State is seared into my brain, but the guy somehow took over a 12-1 OSU team -- turned them into a 6-7 team -- then Urban came in and they were 12-0.

He obviously has gotten better over time. Using that one year 10 plus years ago as proof he won’t be successful is foolish.

Until he shows he can win at something more than G5 -- I have a hard time. It could be that I despise Ohio State too, why I don't give him a chance. :pound:

STFU, idiot.

1) Did Nebraska make Mickey Joseph permanent? NO
2) Did Nebraska hire a coordinator? NO
2) Did Nebraska have a blank check? YES
3) Did an established head coach take the Nebraska job? YES

"Nebraska doesn't bring in one of the top coaches to take over the program, like LSU and USC did."

Lowly Temple played Brian Kelly's #9 Notre Dame to a 20-24 loss.
Temple actually beat James Franklin's Penn St.
Baylor played Lincoln Riley's #10 Oklahoma to a 31-34 loss.
Baylor played Lincoln Riley's #6 Oklahoma to a 23 - 30 loss.
Baylor played Kirby Smart's #5 Georgia to a 14 - 26 loss.

Attempt to take your miserable life NOW as you promised!!!

I’m not sure if you are aware, but the B1GWest hasn’t been some gauntlet For a few years. Looking at Wisconsins schedule, he could conceivably go 10-2. (Not saying he will be it’s certainly not impossible) They play Ohio State, Rutgers and Indiana from the East and no one in the west you can legitimately say is a definite loss. Plus the OOC isn’t horribly tough.

Because you're a flaming idiot.

Only Nebraska fans would put up a post bragging about losses by a coach. Here is some more losses by Rhule -- Rhule is 58-69 overall as a head coach. Is he a good hire for Nebraska? Absolutely. Is he a home run hire for Nebraska? No.

He is a guy who will make Nebraska more disciplined and they will compete with the B1G West, but if you think he is bringing Nebraska back to prominence (as one Nebraska fan mentioned) -- you are going to be upset.

If Nebraska fans would temper their expectations and realize where they fit in today's CFB -- you wouldn't be so upset at the results. Congrats on your big rivalry win over...........Iowa. Can't wait to hear more about the close losses for years to come :)

LOL @ adding his NFL time as a HC to his overall college record.
LOL @ adding his first years at Temple and Baylor to his overall record.
I'd say taking (2-10) Temple and (1-11) Baylor to winning teams, playing ranked teams close, all of which had or have head coaches you consider elite is quite an accomplishment.

Again.... The following list you guaranteed with your life would happen.

1) Nebraska will make Mickey Joseph permanent.
2) Nebraska will hire a coordinator.
3) Nebraska does not have a blank check.
4) Nebraska will not get an established head coach.

End your miserable existence.

As I said -- ONLY a Nebraska fan would be trying to sell a coach based on his losses.

How is this -- you guys will be world beaters in no time. Nebraska is back. You will own your big time rivals, Iowa and Wisconsin, now.

You want to know why Nebraska will never be nationally relevant? I am having a conversation with a Georgia fan right now about recruiting.

In 2019-2022 alone. Georgia has signed 18 five star recruits and 43 top 100 nationally recruits. You think Nebraska is going to compete with that? :pound: As I said -- you will be competitive in the B1G West. Nebraska will NEVER be able to recruit with the top teams.

I'm not the one messaging you -- YOU messaged ME.
I guess you were excited about hiring the coach with a losing record overall who was just fired in the NFL.

Note this..

"will be world beaters in no time. Nebraska is back"

WhoPhoneDis (a.k.a. TrustMeIAmRight) is the only one here ever saying that.

Nebraska lives rent free in his empty cranium.

You have yet to address 1-4.

I guess McIntosh is trying to put his own imprint on the program. Trying to move on from 30 years of Alvarez type ball and into the modern era. We'll see if it works or not.

Now, I will say that Fickell has done a great job at Cincy and the situation isn't that much different as UW doesn't recruit top 10 or even to 30 classes on an annual basis. What they do recruit is the hippo's from Wisconsin, Illinois and Minny to play o and d line, then try to get athletic ability other places. The program is built on getting guys in and getting them bigger and coaching them up, basically the same as Cincy. Again, we'll see...
