Eric Maxim Chopo Moting super in form Bayern striker got one of those late goals. Didn't play all year, and has absolutely been killing it with Bayern in last 10 games when they started using him. Just what Cameroon needed.

One thing about the MLS is the best high profile Euro players seem only to play for LA or Miami...although a few went to Toronto. None will ever go to Real Salt Lake Madrid or Sporting Kansas City Lisbon.

It’s amusing how they just move the roster/salary cap goal posts for LA/Miami. He probably could have gone to LAFC after the league announces “surprise, everyone can have 7 DPs now!”

In the past they've gone to New York or DC too. But, if I'm on my retirement lap, I'm not looking anywhere else but those sunny beaches.

I still reflect on Bale's move to LAFC as a stroke of genius. Gets to play as little as he wants to stay in shape for the WC. Zero pressure on him whatsoever. Gets a nice paycheck, and he is in sunny SoCal so golf is fully on the menu.

My first WC post.

I'm watching all my games recorded so I won't go anywhere near "info" until I'm done for the day. Which last Thursday was quite late in the day as I also recorded and watched 3 NFL games plus Davis Cup tennis, Canada vs Germany.

Sad for Canuckistan. But what the fuck.

Many surprises. Enjoyed Spain-Germany.

Some very pretty goals overall.

I've watched every game. And since I'm working from home...

A dirty job but somebody has to do it.
 
So. My 2 cents on tomorrow. USA's 1 goal was when Wales got stretched at the back. That's not going to happen tomorrow unless we're already leading.

Can we be creative enough? Can we put quality balls into the box? Can we finish? I have serious doubts but I would be happy as shit to be proven wrong.

It can probably happen and they'll get the goal.

But it'll be a totally USMNT team move for the game to end in a draw.

Can they finish? For almost all of the last 20 years I have asked this. Almost because there had been a few breakthroughs in group play over that time.

Here’s hoping for one more today. It’s about all we can do.
