No clue. I think that in general is their biggest problem: age.

I was pulling for them because i think Bentancur has been a revelation for Spurs. But I suppose of they go out, then he gets some more needed rest.

Today is going to be more difficult than it looks on paper. Iran only needs a draw while the US needs to win. Means the US will have to press the game and Iran can sit back and try to counter. Perilous spot to be in. I hope our boys can take care of business, but I won't be shocked if this ends in a draw.

Absolutely.
Questionable lineup decisions and questionable tactics.

Iran can try to park the bus and force a draw with a myriad of dark arts to slow the pace of the game down.
US has to get creative.
Because our strikers stink, I would put Weah or Pusilic up top and insert Reyna/Aaronson in there for creativity in the front 3.
Let them cook.

Iran isn't guaranteed getting through with a draw, though. If Wales wins and Iran draws, Iran is almost certainly out. There's be a three way tie with 4 points, and Iran would lose the first tiebreaker on goal differential, unless Wales wins by 7. So I don't think Iran will necessarily be playing for the draw from the jump. Obviously, events in the other game will dictate how Iran plays, but the only way Iran guarantees advancement is by winning.
 
My dream scenario is USA win and Wales win which will give us Senegal/Ecuador in the round of 16

It's in their best interest to frustrate the US and play the 1st half to a draw.
Then they can take a look at what is going on in the other game and adjust accordingly.

True.
The only guarantee through is a win. And the only guaranteed out is a loss for Iran. I'd say they probably have about an 80% chance of advancing (maybe higher) with a draw. Odds say 16% chance of a Wales win.
 
Very nervous about Iran.

Young team has shown good fight, but this is the kind of game that could ruin what has been built that past 4 years
