having watched the world cup, it's fucking so boring compared to baseball. i will say, regular season is what it is, but the playoffs, which i would consider equal level to WC in their respective fields, each pitch is so fucking tense, while soccer is just jogging back and forth.
 
Didn’t feel great scoring just one again Iran but we take the W and press forward

Don’t disagree but at least we have almost instant VAR to check and there are clear measures

I remember how messy it was before VAR, teams screwed over all the time

Berhalter should use Weah as a #9. That's how he scored his goal and almost today too. He was not on the right then. You have Pulisic and Reyna just behind him and nothing else changes. For the Netherlands that is how some are saying it should be, i.e. Meola and Wynalda on Sirius right now.

as someone who's usually looking at a screen, i feel baseball is the perfect game. enough time to do other things while keeping your eye on the game when it matters in between pitches.

They can certainly do better finishing. Sargent certainly isn't the answer.

have no clue what the younger generation is like. cousin came over the day after thanksgiving when i went up to my parents so i could meet her kids and see her (was overseas when she got married, covid, etc...) 5 and 3, i have no qualms about not having kids after that night.

Sargent does play the 'hold up' part of a striker well.

That being said, if Pulisic is out, I would go Aaronson, Reyna, and Weah up top with the MMA midfield.

Got caught up with some work shit so I could sit at my desk pretending to work while watching the game. Reading everything, I'm glad I didn't watch it. Berhalter's typical 2nd half shitfest and the final 10 minutes would have sent me to the hospital. I'm happy we're thru but also kinda mad because it probably means US Soccer will keep Berhalter
