Mike Leach

I was managing ok until I kept watching all these pressers. now I'm tearing up thinking our best chance at anything like this now is Lane fucking Kiffin
I am working from home so I can show emotion, it's difficult to work this morning. I can't imagine what his family is going through

"there's still candy innovation"
"I like the Sprees in a box. You have to go to the dollar store to find them. And I do."
He had a unique way of inserting those comments ( ex, and I do) that was just a great part of his sense of humor

I was just talking to my boss who is a former coach and he pulled up some instructional videos of Leach when he was at Kentucky. He had a technique called the noose for how to catch a ball. Some of the stuff they were doing in the late 90's was way ahead of its time. Leach definitely gets credit for being a great personality for the sport but not enough for his coaching innovations.

Pretty sure they will embalm or cremate Mike so I don't see him becoming the grass that feeds the beast that feeds us.
Don’t think that happens when you burry people in caskets anyways, at least not for a while.

Cemeteries are kinda dated and need to be phased out IMO

I just wish there were more guys like him in coaching, and basically in general. He will be missed, and not more by anyone than his family, but I have to imagine the absolute out pouring of love and respect has to cushion the blow a little.

I like college football a little less knowing he isn't going to be in it anymore.

I was tearing up in the car listening to ESPNU radio Meyer, Neuheisel, Mullen, all talking about him
Always loved when he’d come up when Neuheisel did a weekly interview on Softy’s show. He was clearly very fond of him (as everyone seems to be, I guess it’s stating the obvious).

It had to be pretty great to do the beat reporter/analyst job and draw Leach, and know that your discussion would go from football to aliens to Sasquatch to mascot fights.
