Ohio State out bid for 5 star recruit.........................

Snowflake,

It is priceless you are saying I'm making shit up. You literally turned this discussion into me being racist for pointing out statistical facts. All the while saying Georgia doesn't offer NIL to recruits, then saying every player on the team makes on average 50k to do "charity work".

One of us is making shit up, but it isn't me.
Well, you are a racist based on your posts in this thread, so there is that you have to deal with in your own life.

Other than that, check out the post above, dipshit.

Ewers, who I was referring to, didn't even get his first NIL offer from any "collective" or such connected to Ohio State. He got one prior to his senior year from a DFW group and Texas doesn't allow such for HS kids. So, he left Texas enrolled at Ohio State and rode the bench for them in what would have been his senior year. And I repeat. I doubt there is one kid enrolled in Southlake Carroll High School that is eligible for free/reduced lunch. I drive by that high school very often because both my daughters and their families live in Keller which is right next door to Southlake. Ewers family didn't need NIL money in the least and he took it. Some kids from all economic backgrounds will take it.
Without a doubt -- these kids now all want to make money for doing nothing. My kid is 9 and he wants a youtube channel and wants to be an influencer because "fill in the blank with some random guy online" making $25 million a year to play a video game online.

Once they made NIL legal -- every top recruit was now holding a winning lottery ticket. They can turn their athletic ability into 6 figures, even 7 figure deals to play in college. The higher ranked the recruit -- the more they can hold out for.

Yes Snowflake -- don't let facts get in the way of your hurt feelings. I simply posted statistics. As a matter of fact, it was you who jumped to the fact that the other 49 of the top 50 recruits were African Americans. Racist much? Why couldn't they be Asian? Or hispanic? Or white QB's, which 3 others are?

So far in this thread you jumped to these literal conclusions of things that were never said all the while calling me racist:

so black families are poor but the one white family in the top 50 isn't.
You are saying that all the black recruits are inner-city kids who are poor, but the one white kid isn't.
blacks are poor and need NIL help now, but white aren't.

This is just a few of your comments. Now show me where I said all black families are poor and the one white family isn't? Show me where I said all the black recruits are inner city kids who are poor? Show me again where I said the white kid isn't? Show me where I said all blacks are poor and whites aren't? Bet you can't.

Josh Pate video?

Dude, it's all throughout your posts. You are the one that said that the poor inner-city kids were looking for handouts. When I pointed that out to you that wasn't true and was paternalistic, you were the one that then tried to justify it by pointing out some random statistics about blacks. You aren't going to pin this on me. You are the one that are saying and implying it's black kids who are poor and need NIL. Live with it, racist.

What about Josh Pate? You going to just ignore that? Shut the fuck up and tell me where he is wrong.

You seriously don't read what you post about, do you? I've addressed all this, in this fucking thread ... I beg of you, read the whole thread before posting again, because you have no idea what you are even resonding to.

As I clearly stated, we are not saying, "you come to UGA, and we will give you $100,000." That is pay-for-play. We aren't doing that. Period. What we are doing is saying, "look at what we have done for our existing players - everyone is earning at least $50,000. Some are earning more - KM2 is getting money from this company. Stetson is getting X from this company. Bowers is earning this amount. Here is a list of companies that our guys have worked with. If you come here, we will have multiple collectives to help you build a brand and can help you make money like our current guys are. But if you want us to cut a check for $100,000 before you get here and prove your worth, we will take a pass." We've lost multiple highly rated players this year for this very reason.

You can disbelieve that all you want, but if you pay one coming in, you have to pay them all. Kirby ain't playing that game.

As for your bagman comment, read better. I stated clearly that we were in the bagman business, just like you guys and eveyone else was. I'm neither stupid nor naïve. I also stated that an argument can be made that what I describe is "pay for play" and that it's really form over substance ... we are using NIL to entice players to come to UGA, but we are doing it by having them get here first and then earn it. That's the original intent of NIL and that is the way we are doing it. I am 100% confident of that.

I posted that yesterday ... you don't read, you just run off at the mouth. You never stop to think that maybe the person you are mouthing off to actually might be right. You thought you had me here, yet I posted all of this 24 hours ago.

This a lot of effort to try and convince people UGA isn't using NIL to the fullest...which is entirely okay

At this point who gives a shit lol

Show me where? You are the one who made the literal statements. Feel free to quote where I said all blacks were poor? Show me where I said the white players aren't? Show me where I said they were all inner city kids? Bet you can't.

Bet I can, just quoting your words, racist:

You said: You truly think these superstar 17 and 18 year old inner city kids who see football as their way out are turning down guaranteed NIL money so they can go be a part of "georgia's culture" and the possibility of getting some NIL deals if they earn it. It is tough to even type that out with a straight face.

I said: First, nice paternalism ... as if all football recruits are poor inner-city kids. Some are poor, but many are solidly middle-class families.

You then made the first reference to black players: Seeing as 70% of african american kids are born into single families households, with the vast majority being single mothers and the overwhelming majority of a blue chip recruits being african american -- I'd wager a lot of money most are from families well below middle class and are from families who live paycheck to paycheck -- it isn't difficult to make the leap. But hey -- maybe Georgia only recruits the middle class and well off elite recruits.

I responded: Now you aren't just being paternalistic, but a racist POS. So all the CFB recruits are poor black kids? SMH, did you even stop and think about what you typed? Off the top of my head, I can name 25% of UGA's roster of black players whose parents do just fine and aren't living in poverty. I'd love to see you tell this to Kellee Ringo's mom, Milton's father who owns his own business, or Jalen Carter's parents who are middle class and leaders in their community. Big 0's mom working in a casino in Vegas so her son can play football - she'll be getting riches soon when he cashes in the NFL, and he did damn good with NIL the past few years so he would stay. I could go on and on, you paternalistic racist. Are there some poor kids? Sure, and perhaps those players might be more inclined to chase immediate money. But you can fuck off with the the idea that NIL is a bunch of poor black folks trying to get rich quick ... SMH.

So, yeah, you are the one who first brought race into, and then you doubled and tripled down by trying to prove that 49 of 50 of the top recruits were black and the one white one evidently was not poor and didn't need NIL. That's on you dumbfuck, not me.

You really don't comprehend what others type, and you can't even remember what you typed a few minutes ago. SMH.

I think this proves what we've all known all along

Michigan fans are racist and in general the root of all evil.

The numbers talked about in this is crazy to me. CFB is turning into who is willing to pay the most money and not who have the best coaches, fans, academics, campus and facilities.

OSU offered him $500,000, but fell $1.3 million short of the Georgia offer. CRAZY. Pretty soon, these kids will make more money in college than they do in the pros.
Sucks to be a poor school

It is laughable he truly believes the type of classes Georgia is signing, these recruits are signing with nothing guaranteed, they are signing for the culture. Then he tosses in there, well every player is making roughly 50k and many make more to do "charity work".

THAT IS USING NIL TO RECRUIT. :pound:

I actually thought my point was really straightforward. Some schools went all-in on the pay for play giving a lot of money to high school kids. I don't think that's right, I don't think it's good, and I think that is starting to be proven out. That said, I am all for NIL ... I've advocated here for a long time that you have to pay the labor. And I've also been open that what UGA and others are doing can easily be called "pay for play" but just in different and more subtle way. There is no doubt that UGA is saying that once you get here, you will get your NIL. The good thing is that this is within the rules, even if it is form over substance.

I won't even pretend OSU isn't pulling the cards out

You all outbid them and it's a breaking story

You didn't lure this kid with 50k

Josh Pate response? Didn't think so.

Goodness ... you really can't read. Go up and read me quoting my post from a day ago, where I said one could argue it is form over substance to say what UGA is doing isn't pay for play. I posted that yesterday and then again today. But there is a substantial difference in the way it is being done, and it is being done to maintain the culture that UGA has ... you have to get here first, enroll, get to class, get in the weight room, and then the NIL opportunities start. This does weed out the recruits that are only interested in money. As ATM has found out, that isn't the way to build a team. You keep going on and on about recruits coming to UGA for the culture - and they are to an extent. But I never brought culture up in the context, you did. The context I brought it up in is that paying money up front can ruin the culture that a team has, and we've seen that with our very own eyes.

And of course people use NIL to recruit ... I've even posted that here multiple times.

Believe what you want ... it's mostly being closer to home. And, if he is as good as people think, he'll make a lot more than $50K. But he won't be rolling up to his first practice in a Lambo, or with $800K in the bank, I can tell you that. Your own news people are telling you that.

I find it funny that someone who bashed on A&M's NIL deals now defending the same actions when his school does it. "NIL is being used to induce players to come to schools. That was not the intent" was mumbled less than 12 months ago. :L

Nowhere did i make the jump all are poor, YOU DID and nowhere did I say 49 of the top 50 were black kids, YOU DID.

All I did was look up the top 50 recruits for 2023. I'm somehow racist that 92% are african american? Got it. And I'm racist that 70% of african american households are single parent households? Got it. That is called pointing out facts, not being racist. Hence the reason, from now on, your name to me is Snowflake.

As we found out how? We have a lot of talented kids on the team now, and they were pushed into action as true freshmen. Anyone thinking tons of true freshmen on both sides of the ball were going to win early were just kidding themselves. Write us off at your own peril.

I am not writing you off. As much shit as I give you, I've always kind of liked ATM being in the SEC.

I am saying that whatever you did with NIL last year failed miserably. Some of these are people getting recruited over, but you have a bunch of dissatisfied players in that great class. A bunch are in the portal. Someone had to go out and use NIL the way you did, and I can't imagine you would say it was a success.

I think your problem is Dumbo. I am just not convinced he is a good coach.

Anyone pretending they know what's happening are just fooling themselves.

It's such a waste of energy it's insane
