Big East Basketball

Bummer of a loss against X but hell of a game.

We are a couple plays from being undefeated in conference. Tough to complain right now. Along with 09 and 12 this might be our best team since the final 4 squad. Would be nice if we can get back to making noise in March cause this team is 100% capable.

Helps that there's absolutely nobody outside of Houston and maybe Kansas that really scare you at all.

I mean Purdue is doing a great job of winning, but they're thin. Bama? Really?

Bama gots problems

Fuck Providence. League just fully up their ass trying to make any game competitive. Tried to do it against CU Saturday too.

There is a reason we are up double digits most of the time we play them.

We have got to start rebounding though.

In the span of 2 weeks, UConn Forum went from 'who in the country can beat us' to fire Hurley.
I remember right after Houston lost their first game and fell from #1. UConn fans were all bent out of shape because they didn't jump Purdue and UVa to go to #1.

To be fair they had a case at the time. They not only had a really impressive resume, but they were boatracing teams. Not a single game even in single digits in the non con.

And also, it all points to why the Top 25 is dumb and overall meaningless. Its good to get your name on the sportscenter scroll but thats about it. Teams flucuate all the time. Coaches and AP voter have different criteria for votings and some dont even watch games.

The metrics like Kenpom and NET etc.. are what matter. Those much more accurately gauge where a team is "ranked".

They had a case to an extent. UVa had just beat Baylor and Illinois, both top ranked teams at the time. Sure, they struggled with FSU and JMU right after that, but that wasn't clear enough evidence for them to jump UVa at the time, IMO.

those St. John's cheerleaders are bigger than Syracuse's starting defensive line in football

How is Andre Curbelo still a D1 basketball player??

And how does Mike Anderson have a job for playing that guy in crunch time. He is a absolutely dreadful basketball player.

This team is fucking different. Idk where it ends up but we are different.

TKO had his worst game ive seen in a while(only 1 TO). We couldnt hit a wide open shot to save our lives. 17 TOs which we never have. But we fucking boatraced SHU at the rock. Forced 26 Tos

I hope we keep it up cause this was one of the swing games imo for a quest at a BE title

It's a possibility.

Remaining schedule is very favorable.

Probably ends up being some kind of tie.

Yeah if things play to the way they have in the BE so far

I had @creighton and Uconn as losses.

Home vs X and @SHU as the toss ups.

@Depaul as the wild card. They are scrappy and we lose to those fucks all the time.

So thats like a 15-5 projection. If we slip up somewhere else we have to steal the Creighton or Uconn game.

Georgetown Finally!!!

Two more years is a looooooooooooooooooong way away. And with age(will turn 24 late in the season of his last year) plus professional money opportunities, Kolek could reverse course.

But he talked about in a podcast that Shaka believed in him and he intends to honor that belief. If Kolek stays 2 more years thats 1. terrifying for the rest of the BE and 2. Going to put him on a legit path to break Hurley's assist record.

Dont get me wrong, Ill take Kolek still being here, that would be quite the rush but if Im being honest...

We are so damn starved to have actual success. My personal hope is this off season we afford any NIL offers from other teams or pro offers and the whole team runs it back next year. And the success between this year and next is strong enough that Omax/Oso/Kolek and maybe even Kam move on to pro careers.

Yea the 5 year thing, automatic transfer thing has been a game changer.

Souley Boum has been money. I don't know what other teams were going after him, but if say UConn had gotten him instead of the trash they have at point, forget about it.

If Nova had him instead of Arch, we'd be a tournament team.

I think this is the year to do it. Hard to say how it will play out, but the BE could be strong next year. Creighton kids have played themselves out of the draft and could stick around, UConn has a great class coming in, Nova will be better.

BE should be really strong next year.

Butler really can only improve. Nova will greatly improve. Im sure X and Prov will reload with transfers. Uconn gonna have that big fucker Clingan forsure plus recruits......but they do have Hurley.

Gtown and Depaul will be themselves. Gtown may reload with transfers and new coach but wont be great right away. SJU is typically a mess. Curbelo was just a moronic addition and took Posh down with him.

Barring mass departures Creighton and especially Marquette should be really strong.

But of course, its all a guess with the new transer rules.

Next year should have more consistent depth where there wont be a clear bottom 6 and top 5(i still count Uconn). While still having big time strength at the top. Better equipped for non con too. More experience.

Odd year where the Big East metrics is better than their performance. Three teams in Top 11 of Ken Pom, pretty sure that's a first for new BE.
