Big Ten Basketball

Ohio State is the worst power conference team at this point. Just beyond awful. Maybe we could beat Louisville but that’s about it

I'm thinking EJ Liddell was criminally underrated. I know you lost Branham from last years team, but Sensabaugh is a protected lotto pick, so that's replaceable in terms of talent. Maybe Liddell covered up other flaws, because the roster is pretty good, and in theory has good pieces.

They looked good until January and then just completely fell apart in the worst way. No clue what happened but the whole team has just seemed to have given up now.

Yeah, it seems like that. I still wouldn't put it past them to make a run in the BTT, but winning 5 games in 5 days is a bit much to ask to make the NCAAT. It's not like they've been getting blown out(outside of today), so if they figure it out, they have the talent to make a run IMO.

When we played them in the 2nd round last year, they were all Liddell and Branham. It was enough to make it very close, but they didn't have much else.

Purdue goes down, didnt realize Northwestern was good this year.

They've got a real nice team especially on D. Honestly NW didnt even play well today. They were just good enough to stay in it then made plays at the end but it's not like they played out of their mind

another quality loss. joy.

Purdue dropping a couple recently might help them in long run.

They always deserved to be #1 but I never thought that roster was a clear cut #1 roster. So they were always due. Now maybe they get the mini slide out of the way before March and games that matter happen.

I'm officially done with Hoiberg

I think Hoiberg has done a phenomenal job specific to this year

This is a team most thought would be lucky to win 10 games all year and he already has them at 12 with at least 7 games left

I think at some point fans need to realistic in regards to their program and its ceiling on a consistent basis

Nebraska is historically irrelevant in basketball even as it pertains to simply being average on a regular basis

When you factor that in with the level of competition they will face every year the typical expectation should be a .500 recurs with an occasional uptick

But it will take time especially when you consider how Hoiberg had tried to do it ( transfers )

If there's one issue imo with Hoiberg its that he doesnt assist to have the patience to build the right way

They've been better than I've thought.

Their roster is flawed, but all of their losses have been close and that's a really good sign. I'm actually starting to buy into them being a Final 4 team a little bit.

My expectations aren't unrealistic I don't believe. I expect to at least make the NIT tournament at least 3 out of every 5 years and to the dance once or twice every 5 years. I don't think having at least a .500 record and qualifying for the NIT at least is too much to ask.

By and large yes.

But these days, if you hire the right guy at the right time, you can hit it out of the park. Houston and Texas Tech.

And even Rutgers, I can tell you their fanbase is terrible for basketball and Pikell has done a great job there.

Brutal loss for Rutgers.

Another impressive win for Nebraska.

Read somewhere Rutgers doesn’t lose at home.....Nebraska doesn’t win on the road....

How did this happen.....:headscratch:

Shoutout to Neb and PSU

We just went from 7th in the B10 to 4th real quick like
