Big Ten Basketball

Went looking for a rutgers nw ticket this morning....sold out 🤯

I don't know what's more impressive, what they've done with the program or how bad the program was able to be for so long...

If Michigan wins this game they are the 2 seed. Lmao.

Big improvements this season but so much of the success centers around 2 guys who won't be here next year.

That was some bad basketball by Michigan.

You gotta think the B1G is gonna do something with so many teams, but so much mediocrity.

last 10 minutes of the 2nd half+overtime were brutal

the top of the Big Ten being so dogshit has helped their bubble teams the past two years. no elite teams, just a bunch of teams that are going to be Round of 64 exists. Purdue will probably reach the Round of 32.

I'm glad the season is coming to an end. Another couple of weeks and bracket experts would start to convince themselves Nebraska and Ohio State are worthy of at large bids.

B1G is probably getting 8, maybe 9. The league isn't that good, but the ACC and P12 have been historically awful this year, that the bids have to come from somewhere. Also conferences like the AAC and A10 are also down. Who else should be ahead of teams like Wisconsin(assuming they beat Minn) and PSU?

Gophers always find a way to lose against Wisconsin.fml.

All the bubble teams have flaws so I'm not advocating for anyone in particular but let's look at Wisconsin for example. They're currently 16-13 (17-13 if they hold on to beat 8-21 Minnesota) and in 12th place out of 14 in the Big Ten. That's a pretty terrible record if you want to make the NCAA tournament. On top of that, their KenPom rating isn't even in the top 70. So there's not even an argument that the advanced metrics say they're better than their record suggests. It's hard to believe that that they're even being considered for the NCAAT. It's even harder to believe that they would be considered if they didn't have a Big Ten logo on their jersey.

Stupid.

Letting Badgers make tourney

Don't get me wrong, but Wisconsin has played and lost so many close games this year, I don't know what kind of team they are. Maybe close means something to the committee? If they win 2 in the conference tourney, I think they are in.

Their predictive metrics are pretty bad, I'd agree with you there. But, they've won @Marquette, swept Iowa, swept PSU and also beat MD and USC. That's 7 wins(2 OOC) against projected tournament teams. They've also got an SOS of 11. If you're around the cutline that's pretty good. Their 9-11 in league play, so them finishing in 12th doesn't matter as much. Not all 12th-place finishes are created equal. Trust me I hope they don't make it, but they're probably last 4 in at this point, which I'd Agree with.

I'd say two is a lock 1-1 probably puts them in Dayton.

As eric said, I think yall only need to beat OSU to get in. 2 wins should be the goal though cause that would get them out of the Dayton play in.

Michigan needs to say b'bye to Juwan Howard
