These numbers give me no indication that Cal vs Purdue would eclipse the Washington Cal numbers.
Don't be so literal ... you are picking the 2nd to worst B1G team. When they play the middle of the pack B1G teams the numbers will be greater. Again, the B1G didn't get the big bucks because they don't watch. Meanwhile, lool at where most your teams are ... they would be the bottom of the B1G.

i litterally picked the team you picked and put the exact numbers of last year. im not trying to spin anything. Purdue cal doesnt move the needle anymore than Illinois Cal indiana Cal maryland cal will.
I even gave you the Purdue vs middle Big teams and the numbers were still no real better than middle Pac games. and thats when they won the division. Like vs Maryland an 8-5 middle team 400k. compare to UCLA who finished 6th in the Pac vs Arizona who finished 8th drew 1.86M
the best numbers Purdue gets are when it plays the Ohio State, Michigan type teams. maybe USC. next best would be vs Oregon, Penn State, Washington.
most of the Big would be the same way.
but Ohio State and Michigan could play a team of 8th graders and still draw numbers. and thats why they are getting the money. Saying they are getting money just because they are in the Big Ten is ignorant. Rutgers vs Indiana is a Big 10 game but you take that so you can get Ohio State vs Michigan. same as the SEC you pay money and get Alabama vs UGA vs LSU vs Florida in whatever combo but you also have to take Vandy vs Missouri.
Purdue Cal just isnt a game. you picked 2 teams. all im saying is that game does nothing.
Purdue vs Washington or Purdue vs Oregon sure.
Cal vs Wisconsin Cal vs Michigan ok.

but Ohio State and Michigan could play a team of 8th graders and still draw numbers.
One day we will have unequal revenue between the have and have nots..

Which is why I said don't be literal. I pulled some teams out of thin air for examples, I wasn't comparing numbers at the time and Purdue came to mind. If you don't understand the concept that I am talking about - Fox putting together 3 really good games to win Saturday night, I can't help you. Obviously they aren't going to get the better B1G teams to play at 9pm, but they can get some central time teams to play at 8pm and that opens up a lot of the middling B1G teams that will do way better than any PAC teams.

To see you try and explain it, you would wonder why the B1G makes more money that all the other conferences. SMH.

Dude, you've already killed two leagues and this is exactly how it starts. Now we need you to go back to the corner and sit the fuck down.

When we are ready for you to have an opinion we will give it to you.

I’ve thought so for a while now. But now I’m thinking the unequal revenue will only be between conferences…which is already here. I believe the historically ingrained have nots in the B1G and SEC will be there “til Gabriel blows his horn.” I know you’ll get that teference.

Just curious, what if B1G went with Utah over Cal but kept Stanford.

Utah is doing well in most sports and is a higher draw in viewership than Cal. They also bring in a new region.

way better than ANY Pac teams?

Now that USC and UCLA are gone, for the most part. Again, the B1G contract is double or more yours. Why is that? Because more people watch their games. A lot more. So, yes, they will do way better on Saturday nights than the PAC did. If you want me to type that Oregon v. Cal would draw better than Rutgers v. Cal, okay. But you are just being pedantic and you know it.

Utah doesn't have the gravitas that Cal has. Not sure Utah is AAU. If the B1G were to take 4 more teams from the PAC, they are more likely to do that with a few teams that are more academic in nature that the Presidents want. Cal Berkely fits that mold to the T.

I can see that. Another dark horse could be Colorado over Cal (fits the each time zone argument).

Ok
So what PAC teams have AAU status and bring $100 million dollars to the table.

Is this a long list ???

So by your measure because they got signed to a bigger contract now the middle teams will automatically out do ANY pac teams.
so that Wisconsin vs Iowa which got 1.09M is now gonna do better because bigger contract. WAY better than ANY pac teams.
Oregon vs Washington 3.63M
Washignton vs Cal 1.32M
Oregon State vs Stanford 1.08M
Utah vs Arizona State 1.21M
Oregon State vs Washington 1.13M
just some.

put Oregon, Washington, Utah on and they are going to do better than any most games from the Big not involving Ohio State and Michigan.

See earlier in the thread. You know I am a rule no. 1 guy - it has to be about the money. But, I posited a situation where practicality required a western division for non-football sports, along with the egos of the Presidents, that might make them grab UO, UW, Cal and Stanford. Of particular interest to me was the value of owning Saturday night.

In answer to your question, USC was the only one, UCLA is a free rider, and there are no others.

Yes, they got more money because even their middling teams are as good as your high end teams when you look at it collectively. You are being pedantic and I am not going to get into single game details, etc. My point was very simple and you are getting way too far into he weeds.

My point was it could be really interesting to see the value of owning Saturday night with teams like yours, UW, Cal and Stanford. They would certainly generate bigger numbers than what the PAC does, if there is value in doing that. Having teams in the Central and Eastern time zones alone assures that.

But, carry one with all your calculations that I don't care about.

I also think the values of Cal-Stanford will be slightly higher once they are playing more big name teams. For example, they now have to played Oregon, Washington, USC, and UCLA every year. In most years in the Pac12, they miss a couple of those teams.

When do they miss those teams in the PAC?
