Stetson Worthington Bennet IV to the Rams in the 4th

What good is a degree when you’re gonna be a millionaire either way
Making millions and being a millionaire are two different things. Stetson is more likely to be taking out a loan to throw himself a party than any QB since VY.

The UGA boosters will keep him up

6 years and no degree is more proof he has a terrible work ethic. He wants everything given to him, doesn't want to work for anything.

But did you see THAT DRIVE!?!?!
I couldn't care less about a drive, a game or anything else in college. Bennett played on a team where they were the most talented team every time he stepped foot on the field and only a few times was it even remotely close. He had one of, if not, the best OL in the country blocking for him. ALl that is gone in the NFL, which is why

The guy will be a nice guy to have as a backup, but Bennett has average arm strength and is undersized. If you are undersized in the NFL -- you had better have a big arm or have the accuracy of Drew Brees. Neither fits Bennett's description.

I like our draft a lot. Time will tell there but our first pick in the 2nd was the best interior Olineman from TCU that grew up down the road from Cowboy stadium. Oline got killed with injuries last year but that’s the problem with our LT and C. Don’t care for either of them

Not sure Stetson will be good in the NFL but I like where we got him considering what he did in college. Mcvay isn’t going hard after lazy people I know that

I think the Rams will finally have some draft picks to help, if they picked the right guys, but they need help all over right now. The good thing for LA is -- Arizona is a bigger a mess right now. So LA will get some wins.

As far as Stetson -- It is what it is. He is a no risk pick. He will already be better than whatever LA has behind Stafford. But at the same point -- no one should confuse him as being the long term answer for them.

It is a shame for LA that Aaron Donald came out about wanting to retire, or they could have got a haul for him, but no one is going to shell it out knowing he has one foot out the door.

That's why I think they messed up by wasting a 4th round pick on him. You can find legit players in the 4th round, guys that can contribute on day 1. There are multiple veteran FA's that could be signed right now and be the LAR backup, Stetson can't be the backup. He needs to be 3rd string for a bit, so LAR still is going to have to sign a backup. Unless you think he has a shot at being the future starter, why waste a 4th on him? 6th or 7th round is where he belonged, and if LAR hadn't picked him in the 4th they could have had him a lot later.

How do you know? You think you know more the McVay and the team that drafted him?

FWIW, I tend to think the same way ... this height might be an issue, but he's been behind an NFL tall OL all his years. He has decent arm strength. I'd love to see him at a minimum be a 10+ year backup ... that's more than Greene, Shock. Murray, Eason, or Fromm. What I would really love is to see the baller in him get a chance and see him tell the doubters to fuck off.

He will be in USFL or XFL or CFL before 2027.

I'm willing to play the odds. Seeing as the odds of a QB drafted outside the 1st two rounds to go on to be a star in the NFL is 2.7% When you couple that will his stature and average arm strength -- the odds grow even smaller for him (no pun intended).

10 year backup is a realistic goal for him. I see him as this draft's Chase Daniel. The consummate backup QB. A guy you could trust to come in to run a drive or finish a game, but not a guy you want as your starter all year.

Personally -- I wanted the Lions to grab him, because I thought we had the perfect opportunity for him. We have a great OL and a running game to keep defenses off balance. Once he had the drunk and disorderly, I knew he was off the Lions board though -- they have this culture they are trying to build. Same reason we didn't draft Jalen Carter, even though we have a huge need for disruptive DT (Carter is another guy I wanted).

Yeah -- I think he will be their backup, as they simply don't have anyone else. That being said -- I think you are spot on. A 6th or 7th would have been a better spot for Bennett. LA has so many more pressing needs than a backup QB.

We traded back in the 3rd and still got our guy and also got a 4th. So it was a free pick and we needed depth at QB as well.

How you got the pick isn't the conversation. Even if it is a "free" pick, there are still much better players at positions of need than a guy no one thinks is anything more than a career backup. You can sign a dozen guys off the street right now that are more ready than Stetson and then used the 4th rounder to get a guy who addresses a position of need.
