Nebraska Cornhuskers The Official 10000 posts for a Husker Conference Championship

i thought the Huskers were still pretty mediocre. Benhart still didn't look up to the task. I'm thinking he's the odd man out when Teddy comes back, right? People praising Sims, but looked mediocre, but I'd hope they told him to just hand off on some of the options where it looked like he could have ran a long ways. That's the most annoying thing which happened a lot with AM in games, looked like room for QB run but he hands it off. WRs had some poor hands, seemed like a lot of drops, maybe more by 2nd team than 1st, but i remember several. I'm leaning towards Casey winning the job in the fall, with Sims coming in for some run options/change of pace. Dude definitely seemed athletic. Run game still questionable, as long as they commit to doing it more, it could be there, but i could certainly see dropping off it with some of the poor blocking i saw on Saturday.

D - will be interesting. Not sure if it was our mediocre oline, but they certainly seemed quicker and disruptive. lots of young guys flying around. i don't remember the O ever trying to take a deep shot, not sure if our DBs were doing that good/if our O doesn't have that guy this year/ or they simply didn't try. Still need DL depth, they said Ty was out, so he will be a big help, but still questionable if we'll be able to stop a run heavy offense in that 3-3-5.

thoughts on transfers? How many did we have to lose by fall? I feel like at least 1 if not 2 QBs have to go, Chubba and Logan? someone in the RB room too, they kept talking how we had so much depth.

I thought Sims looked ok. The defense looked ahead of the offense.
Gage Stenger played very well. The tight ends aren't the strength of the team...

Sims has a good arm, but I question his zone read (or lack thereof).
This has been a problem with Nebraska QB's for a long time.

It's a fucking option play not much different in concept than the Wishbone or Power I. If a hole's there you hand it off. If a hole's not there you go to your next option. Sims was handing it off to the RB running into a stacked line.

Option is Option is Option. Use them.

another damn Friday night game... hate those

10/06 @ illinois

gives us only 6 days after meatchicken..

but at least we get another day to prepare our onside kicks at we have 15 days between illnois and Northwestern

so.... where is Nebraska football today if Tom Osborne would have won the governship in 2006? Most likely he would have NEVER became our AD.

At least a little good news.

Nebraska baseball is in a 3 way tie (Purdue/Michigan) for 5th place in the Big 10 at (10-8) in conference.

Only 8 teams get to the Big 10 Tournament where an auto-bid is their only chance to get to the NCAA Tourney.

The Huskers are...

(1-2) vs UNO
(1-2) vs cretin
(1-1) vs North Dakota St
(0-1) vs South Dakota St

Can they manage to fuck this weekend's series up against #11 Penn St?

So Warren didn’t do a complete job as B1G Commissioner?

  • They are going to have to pay $25 million total for a deal to pay Fox back for lost 2020 football game inventory. This came after an arrangement between Fox and the conference that was unable to muster the lost revenue from the COVID-19 season.

I was wondering when the details of that were going to come out. As I've stated many times these media rights contracts are fluid. They are based on projections. If you get more eyeballs than projected the networks pay more money for that fiscal year. If you get less eyeballs than projected the networks pay less money for that fiscal year.

They played no out-of-conference games in 2020 and had arguably the biggest game (Michigan/Ohio St) cancelled.
Warren initially wanted to cancel the entire Big 10 season until he got blowback from Nebraska and a couple others. That would have been a massive revenue hit.
